I listened to Dan Roan's interview with this Allen Stanford and his denial that he did nothing wrong just sounded the same a Blatter. They seem to honestly think they have done nothing wrong and fail to see it.
A whistleblower has given evidence against Sepp Blatter in the criminal case against him. bbc.in/1RPq3Xs
My hope is that we do not become too fixated on the high level proceedings and lose track on the ingrained corruption that must be addressed at all levels. Same applies for IAAF. It all has a very long way to go and getting the right, untainted, but capable people involved is going to be a difficult recruitment.
Interesting piece in theTelegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...he-secret-world-of-Sepp-Blatter-and-Fifa.html
Both Blatter and Platini have lost appeals but bans reduced from 8 to 6 years. http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/35655454
The bans were reduced by two years after the committee considered the duo's "activities and services rendered to Fifa, Uefa and football". That's a bit like reducing a ****phile's sentence because he'd been doing good work in a children's home.
The new presidential vote is taking place. FIFA have just announced they're going to make a $550m loss, having spent $10m a month on legal fees since last May.
It's no wonder they're short of cash, of the 34 FIFA sponsorship deals currently available, 27 remain unfilled.
They're just voted in the new reform package, with 179 (89 %) in favour. The President no longer holds the power, so there can never be another Blatter (at least in theory).
Ben Rumsby @ben_rumsby Got to love Fifa. In a ballot to dismiss convicted criminal Canover Watson from audit and compliance committee, two voted against. He's currently doing a seven year stretch ffs.
You couldn't make it up! Unbelievable. The two that voted against maybe thought he was on secondment?
The man with the best name in the presidential race, Tokyo Sexwale, has just used his address to congress to withdraw from the election completely.
First round of voting... Sheikh Salman: 85 Prince Ali: 27 Champagne: 7 Infantino 88 104 needed to win, they go to a second round of voting (bizarrely no-one is eliminated, so it could potentially come out the same).
FIFA's executive committee will be replaced with a new council made up of at least six women - one from each confederation. Give me strength. There's no evidence women are any more honest than men.
Just goes to show that ****-all changes at FIFA - the two front runners are both badly tainted; Infantino has been right hand man to the fiddling bastard Platini since 2009, how he ''knew nothing'' is beyond belief, his main sales pitch is to increase (****ing ruin) the teams at the World Cup to 40 - 'vote for me and your ****ty team can come to the World Cup and be dicked live on TV.' Sheikh Salman, the less said the better, he, allegedly, helped in the hunt for protesting footballers and athletes after the 2011 Bahraini uprising, they went into the Bahraini 'justice system' where some still remain. Awkward questions from journalists to this man have been answered by aggressive, litigation threatening letters from a top London legal firm - the **** is Septic Splatter dressed in robes.
