Captain Pugwash and General Mediocrity

Loads of arguments to be had about who we sell, who we keep, who should play, who shouldn't etc and everyone will have an opinion.

To narrow it a little.

A captian should be someone who drives the team forward either through performance (Gerrard) or vocally (Carra), in brackets are just examples.

Henderson is neither, I'm not saying sell, sell, sell but he's certainly not up to the job as he's neither of the above and not even a consistent performer for us. A look around the squad and there's simply nobody who can replace him we lack leaders which is a huge problem.

I don't know enough about Matip to say he's a solution so feel that we need to bring in an experienced player who is capable of being our captain. Not easy but it must be a priority this Summer.

Outside of this we are overloaded with players and need to trim the squad, too many players who are very average. I've always gone on about not ripping the squad to bits every season but that's what we've done and it never works.

So my opinion is we buy a CB (done Matip) we buy a CM and we buy a GK strengthening the spine of the team we also have Grujic who is to come into the squad.

If we sell and buy loads again then it's starting over and it means another poor season, I'd rather bring a few in, sell a lot and promote from within.

Quality not quantity please so following the above, Matip in, Grujic as a squad player (maybe) sign 2 and name your squad showing who you'll sell.

That's 28 players and there will be youngsters that can come in if need be, it's shows how heavy our squad is once you add 3 players to it. There's a lot of trimming to do.

Our squad is a mess we need to trim and add quality and have confidence in younger players.

Christ we need a real leader.

Hendo in current form shouldn't be making the team let alone captaining it.

 

i would keep tex, he is handy to bring on when couts needs a rest.

the rest i would agree with to be honest.

 

I think Grujic is in for that but not sure. I'd like Tex and some of the others to stay but the squad is simply too big.

 

I don't see much wrong here.

Grucjic won't be an attacking cm IMO. I can see us do more than this honestly.

I would also strongly suggest that 3 strikers would be a bad scenario to go into a new season with so we let go what you say a striker is required.

but as i've said klopp needs 3/4 he can rely on and he doesn't have any today.

 

If I had to pick one more it'll be striker as we cannot rely on Studge. One more isn't ripping the squad to bits though so no problems there.

 

Henderson isn't fit enough to start for us let alone be captain. It symbolises just how far we have fallen.

And our vice captain is no better.

You say that, but their bakery section is top notch. Got one just down road from work and pop in now and then instead of tesco to get some bits.

 

Nowt wrong with LIDL or Aldi, if you shop smart, it's not like any of the big boys don't sell loads of **** product anyway

I'd like to see Markovic play under Klopp. He never suited Rodgers strict style of play. In a free flowing attack I think he would surprise us all. There again he might be as bad as under Rodgers in which case we get shut, but give him half a season to prove himself
