How can a player give away a ball he's trying to win back? That makes no sense. When you foul you give away the ball. But as I stated with the figures I didn't have to "trawl" loads of sites to find, both Lucas and Masch were top five for passes and tackles. So the idea that there's a world of difference between the two is not backed up by stats. FACT: I wouldn't buy any player based on one stat. But I'd laugh at any muppet buying a player without any stats. FACT: Stats give you a better picture than no stats. All you have is your eyes, which aren't seeing the full picture. Your eyes only see, they do not process information gathered and they do not store information for later retrieval and analysis. So your cause really is lost because all you have is what Andy Gray has on zonal: absolutely **** all except an unfounded and unsupported opinion. FACT: You don't have to trawl through hundreds of websites but at least base your opinion on something more than "I saw it at a game" because everybody saw it at a game and not everybody shares the same opinions of what they saw at a game. complete legend - what i admire most about lucas is his attitude - he kept working hard even when he was getting dogs abuse from some fans - he had the bottle to stay and fight when others were jumping ship
I no that some of you wont believe me but, Since Lucas turned up at the club i have always backed him, i dont no why but i always stuck up for him, even though i have been severely mocked because of this i stood by him because i believed he had the potential to be a top quality player. He turned up in a foreign country, at the age of 19(?), different style of football/culture and he was moved from an attacking or box to box midfielder into a DM, he has also had to put up with a lot of fans on his back constantly slating his performances. Now this is a lot to deal with at a young age, give him a coupe more seasons and i think he will be a beast in the DM position.
Fair point, but what I witness at the matches is what actually happens in front of me. I don't have to rely on 'stats' that other people come up with and believe them. When I watch a match, I see everything and I know my eyes do not deceive. For example - say Lucas completes a pass to someone but the person he passes to is in a cr@p position and is then dispossesed. The 'stats' will only show that Lucas completed a pass but the stats do not represent the whole story. At the end of the day, I'm not saying that Lucas is a bad player - far from it. I actually rate him and believe in his potential, even when 'fan's were abusing him and booing him. But Lucas is far from the finished article, which is what I was trying to say earlier.
