7 left in the Adonis and it is looking like a top class renewal. My ante post punt for the Triumph, Gibralfaro, has to give weight all round courtesy of 2 class 3 wins and is officially rated 151. St Saviour is also a dual winner but will need to step up significantly to be involved here one feels. Wolfscatcher looks a tad exposed but should appreciate the better ground and he offers a form tie-in to one of the debutants, Pilansberg, who beat him 3 lengths on the flat in France and was last seen finishing last in the French Leger. Khezerabad won a couple of minor races in France on the flat before being found wanting in listed company and Zubayr was apparently wanted by Willie Mullins but ended up in Ditcheat. Azzuri looks outclassed on his 1 run at Musselburgh. I strongly fancy Gibralfaro to enhance his Triumph claims by taking this but at 11/10 he is very short against some potential top notchers. If Gibralfaro does win, then I expect him to be vying for favouritism for the Triumph so I can only recommend grabbing some 10/1 on him for the Triumph before tomorrow's race.
Nice card at Kempton and I am contemplating going. My big Sis will be saddling up LE REVE again and he will have a mighty chance of following up his recent Sandown success. DRUMCLIFF is in the bumper....prepare to be gobsmacked!
Could be a very good day for Barry Geraghty stick - has a lovely looking book of rides. Bumper looks hot
Abricot de L'oasis in the qualifier is interesting. Up in trip and I think will be better for that. Geordie des Champs in the bumper. Nice pedigree and they paid a hefty price for it as a store.
Odddy, GIBRALFARO 12/1 to win the Adonis and the Triumph. That's got to be better than backing him to win the Triumph as if he doesn't win tomorrow he wont be winning in March!
Off topic but are we doing a forum Cheltenham preview?I always pussy out of it but it's always a great old read!
As my sick note has been extended to the end of March I'm sure I can pick up editing duties this year. I'll create a thread
15.35- KEMPTON- BALLYKAN 25/1 ew With Ryan Hatch 3lb claim is carrying a featherstone of a weight! Is only a novice but improvement looks very likely- he is very ground dependant but the ground does look to be drying out which will suit has no problem staying the distance and his last run can be excused due to the ground, ran ok at Cheltenham but this flat track will again suit more! And altho will have to improve a lot against some of this top field but is unexposed and looks a massive price
HANNIBAL THE GREAT 12/1 Kempton 4.10 This beast was really going places when injury struck. He has not been rushed back but reports are that he is in fine fettle and ready to do himself justice even after 816 days on the sidelines. Its a tough race to come back into but shades of the Magnifique Etoile touch landed a couple of years back. Personally I think he is lobbed in off 122.
