Less grooming by Kemps. I'm curious as to why you think people who don't post, will post to tell you why they don't post...
They have in the past. Some on threads like these, some via PM. Sadly, they've possibly buggered off now though, as the main reason was childish abuse if their view was 'different' to some. I'm curious as to why some don't seem to want others to post. I reckon a wider spread of opinions makes it a more interesting board. The standard of abuse on here from some certainly makes it less interesting. EDIT especially as there's a 'no politics or religion' rule because they result in petty squabbles and abuse.
Ok seriously for a sec. Some people just don't want to post. They get what they need from reading. It'd be nice if everyone posted their opinions but that'll never happen. Same way you can send out a voting ticket to all season ticket holders, or members of the Trust, or ask them all for their view on something, and regardless of how important it is, you'll never get 100%, or even close to that in responses. This forum is what it is. There's some banter, some trolling, some utter bollocks and some really good stuff. Same as all forums. It'll never be all inclusive in all areas, it can't be. It's still bloody great though. I don't see there being any problems with this site, apart from the odd nobhead, but they get dealt with usually. For the most part, this is a good forum, it works, for almost everyone, on different levels. It doesn't need fixing. If people want to post, they can. If they want to act like cockwombles they can. If they just want to read, they can.
I don't disagree altogether, but the 'banter' seems to have taken a turn to just abuse against certain user names on occasions. There used to be decent humour in it, but it does seem to be a tool to keep things 'main stream' too often, and is pushing users away. As I put on another thread, banter and debate made this board popular, not childish abuse. In that respect, the board works for the minority. Posters make up the minority of board users, what's the harm in asking the others?
A few Usually, by the time I have read the posts most of my thoughts have been covered. Agreed, now **** off.
Spot on with this post for me. I bang summat out now and then...it works for me. Can't be arsed to get into heavy debate on a forum with people I don't know. We think differently and I value other opinions...even when they're opinions are wrong.
I think anyone who uses **** on their posts should be barred and this would make the forum more attractive to the ****s who are too shy to post.
See, I find that funny. It's not so much banter and abuse in itself, I like a lot of that, I feel it's more when it's used in place of argument to restrict alternative opinions, or as a stock response to a username no matter what they post.
I just ignore posters that just argue for the sake of it, that is what pisses me off the most when someone says it's black and a poster will just say it white to create an argument.
I don’t think there’s too many people who argue. Just a few. I get involved now and then like everyone does. Bummers can start a fight in an empty room for little to no reason and will take it to the nth degree time and time again until he’s battered the person he’s speaking to with so much boring ****e they give up. DMD on the other end I feel often likes to take the opposite to the popular view for his own amusement. He often complains about things and offers no solutions. He often gets into long slagging matches with posters like Fez and others and if he’s in danger of looking like a **** he usually just goes back to the laughing face emoji or being flippant, claiming the other poster is posting ****e or whatever. If I had to imagine the internal monologue of them bummers would be “I’m sure I’m right somewhere, hopefully ‘technically’, the best form of right!” and DMD would be “Hmm where can I be ‘Holier than thou’ today…” No I’m not going to wade through numerous posts for ‘evidence’ – everyone on this board knows the above two points to be true. The difference is I know I’m a **** now and again but I don’t think you two can see fault in yourself.
You've tried to start arguments with similar claims in the past and failed, so little wonder you won't 'evidence' for it.
Time tbh prefer talking in person to people i know or doing something productive rather than looking at a screen, so a quick read is good enough for me
