Morning all from a drab, chilly but frost free Bandit Country - looking forward to getting back to a league game tomorrow.
Morning all from a lovely Spring like morning in rural France. Looks as if I will have to miss the game tomorrow as I will be stand in dad for the day with my granddaughter having her birthday and her father unable to travel down from Belgium. Depending on which part of the country he is in it can take up to twelve hours of driving, and now the checks at the border are taking up to another two hours each way.
Sounds like poor parenting to me, all children should be drilled into having NOTHING to interfere with match day!
AGREED.... unfortunately..... Commander of the Family (Mme Yorkie)... just doesn't factor football matches in
Is it me, or does anyone believe the BBC report into the way the corporation behaved over those monsters Saville & Hall? I just cannot believe that senior managers were not aware of what was happening when these monsters were carry out some of their foul activities at BBC locations. From what I have heard from others at the BBC it was common knowledge but the culture of letting their "talent" do anything they pleased means they all turned a blind eye - and it still is like that. They let Chris Evans, Clarkson and Moyles get away with allsorts. It seems a total whitewash to me.
Tend to agree... all denial and as long as some perps are convicted can breathe easy..... Tony Blackburn is not looking squeaky clean though. Wonder about that........ Just hope it does not happen again. Outrageous....
Years ago I worked with a guy whose brother made short promo films (before the world of video). He used to tell the story that his brother got a job to make a promo for a Panto that Blackburn was "starring" in and witnessed this event - it seems that TB's wife walked into his dressing room and found him in a compromising position with another man and that is why she left him. As a DJ i.e. someone who knew and played good music, I quite liked TB. His show on Radio London was very popular with the lovers of soul music.
Me too SH, but along with a lot of other stuff though - used to love going to The Cally on a Saturday night, good Soul Night and a bit of a tear up with the pikeys
Good morning all from a cold and dry Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day and very good luck to your Golden Boys!
Good morning all, grey and chilly here this morning. Just fitted a new spare automatic vent opener to the greenhouse as the old one decided to break. Looking at the old one I think I might be able to repair it providing I do not lose the small bits before I get round to it. Not much chance of adjusting the new one as there is not enough heat. Off shortly to the birthday girl's dinner and tea. Her older sister has been cured of her milk and dairy allergy thanks to the French NHS, so will be able to enjoy some Viennetta ice cream for the first time. Sad really that when in England she was told she would have to live with it.
Morning all from a cold St. Helier. OFH, my youngest has an allergy to all soft fruits all products made from them. He has had small amounts of them introduced, which he has had no reaction to, but as he has grown up without them he now automatically avoids them (he's 18). Apparently, when I was a little and my mum gave me mashed banana, I used to be sick. I only tried one again a few years ago and I don't think I was allergic to them, I just don't like the texture. If it's cooked and is softer, then I have no problems, especially if it's barbecued and covered in maple syrup!
I've just ordered my Arsenal away league tickets - £16 for over 65's Well done Arsenal. This affordable pricing gives our supporters a great opportunity to see some of the greatest players in the world, i.e, Ighalo, Deeney, Gomes etc.
Good morning all from Leafy Bucks. Struggling with a chest virus of extraordinary viciousness since the start of the year. This morning is the first where I've actually strayed as far as the sofa and stayed here for more than an hour in over a week. Progress. Yet again I will not be sharing my germs at the Vic, it's been an expensive year having a ticket for almost every match (home and away) and missing both Newcastle games, Southampton and Leeds plus The Temperence Movement at Kentish Town, but managing Forest, Chelsea, Spurs and Palace. Also took in Arsenal v Leicester with Mrs H-F on Valentine's Day and Ennio Morriconne a couple of days later at the O2 before really succumbing to it in time for last weekend Arsenal tix purchased and committed to the rearranged west ham match. All go if I can find my get up and go, probably a week away yet....
