Scott Quigg vs Carl Frampton Saturday night in the super bantamweight division. I'm really buzzing for this. I've been following all the pressers and media tours etc. closely and my opinion keeps changing. It's no doubt in my mind that Frampton has more skill, but I think Quigg is stronger, bigger and more determined. I also think that most of the teams around both fighters are arseholes compared to the lads themselves who seems alright - which is weird as its usually the fighters who are ****s. Anyone else looking forward to it? Who have you got? I'm sticking my neck on the line and saying Quigg will somehow get the win.
First things first. Who'll get the home dressing room? How hard would you like to smash Barry McGuigan in the chops? Can't stand the ****.
100% agree with Barry McGuigan. To be honest I find all the McGuigan's really irritating. Hearn can be annoying but I tend to think he's like that to try and big the sport and Matchroom brand itself - and that he knows he's doing it etc. Whereas the McGuigan's seem like their self-important pricks on and off camera regardless. Actually the main reason I want Quigg to win is so I can see a close up of Barry McGuigan's face afterwards. *Edit - I kept saying 'to be honest' so I took one of them out.
I'll be there, really looking forward to a great nights boxing. A decent under card as well. Frampton for me!
I'm jealous - I bet the atmosphere will be electric. Everything is telling me Frampton is a level above Quigg and should win; but for some unknown reason I keep favouring Quigg. Both looked very drained and dry yesterday - I think they both struggle at the weight.
I'm not sure what the dressing room fuss is about, they look fairly basic anyway... please log in to view this image
I want Quigg, he was on Colin Murray and I like the way he came across, it'll be a close fight but I fancy Quigg. He not as "stupid" a boxer as Frampton is making out. Barry Mc McGuigan was just on Talksport banging on about pulling out if they don't get the star dressing room OR get assurances no one uses it. What pathetic tosh.
Two unbeaten world champs unifying their belts, it's going be one hell of a close fight, both capable of a KO, but Frampton just edges it for me. As for the atmosphere, when Quiggs on home territory at the MEN it's always pretty special For once I'm grateful to Sky selecting a City game, had we been playing tomorrow I wouldn't have made it!
If I was Quigg I'd be tempted to leave a "Gus" in whatever dressing room Frampton decides to change in. Quigg " I'll get changed at home & come to the arena"
