Jose will certainly be inheriting a hot seat...LVG hasn't got off it for over 18 months! Then again look what happened when things got a bit 'hot' on the Chelsea bench...
Jose came into English football when Chelsea had unprecedented money to spend and when United had suddenly been financially hamstrung by the Glazers. It only took Fergie three seasons to see Mourinho off despite the massive difference in financial resources. No contest. I can understand why Jose sees United as his dream job, following in the footsteps of the greatest and his idol.
Longevity is the key. Had Wenger left in 2004 you could apply the same logic to him as many seem to with Mourinho. But the following dozen year drought in the league for Arsene shows why, what Fergie achieved, is head and shoulders above anyone else.
Tactical nous isn't determined by comparing head to heads. Compare Jose's record against the best team ever & Alex's record against the best team ever. You will know who is tactically astute. You will call that parking the bus. But that is the Genius in Jose. Yeah right in more than 2 decades Fergie had unparalleled financial backing except for may be 2 or 3 years when Roman took over & Glazers sucked the life out of your wealth. Through out PL history Fergie had like 2 compentent managers to work against and one is Arsene. And he lost miserably to the other - you can call it Roman, Glazers et al. Also, When Fergie lost to a novice Jap league manager - you were stung by Glazers?
you're not your. Why do you find that so difficult? But in fairness I should have put the lad in his place. Liverpool spent more than United in the 90's. Fergie saw them off. Blackburn had a spell as the money bags. Fergie saw them off. Mourinho only had success at Chelsea in his first spell by spending more than anyone else. Fergie saw him off on a similar budget to Bolton. City then had a vastly superior budget to United. Fergie still at least matched them. The notion that Fergie somehow only ever bought success is nonsense. The only time he had vastly superior financial muscle was for a few years after he won the European Cup. Given the success he'd had it wasn't unusual for him to be in the dominant financial position for a spell. Bitters and morons cling to a myth about Fergie buying the league as it helps them ignore their own clubs' failings. Now you've been educated you can go back to making racist jokes about Spurs fans.
The usual bias, highly debatable drivel by a deluded moron.......... As part of my education could you explain the racist joke bit?.... ]
Debate then. I suspect you can't as you're more about ill thought through, ill informed, poorly constructed and grammatically incorrect one liners followed by lots of....... Spurs fans have big noses. That's really witty stuff. If you're stuck in the 80's.
"Witty" rather than offensive i'd suggest even to 99% of spurs fans... Unlike me you've been banned from various boards here so i'd suggest your posts are rather more offensive than mine.... So grow up Donald FFS.
Debate....come on old fella......share your years of wisdom..... But keep your comedy act to yourself.
I've forgotten more than you'll ever know........ must go before you piss your pants. Do enjoy being a cretin.
If tactical nous isn't determined by comparing head to heads, why are you trying to determine it by comparing head to heads against Barca? Besides which, Mourinho's record against Barca is W8 D9 L10 SAF's is W2, D4, L3 So what's your point? Cue some selective BS about how the records should only be compared for the period of time which is most favourable for Mourinho
I meant - not just head to heads!! Against the BEST team ever- Jose won a CL & La Liga Alex lost 2 CLs. No contest there
Ah, here comes the selective part. The part where we ignore the fact that SAF won the CL against Barca in 2008, and that Mourinho lost two La Ligas to them and two CLs to them in 2006 and 2011. So it's won one CL lost two for SAF Won one CL lost two for Mourinho, won one La Liga lost two for Mourinho Yeah, no contest at all there I eagerly await the arrival of London's biggest Leicester fan to tell us all how Barca were utterly ****e in 2008 and became the world's greatest immediately after
You were being so selective as well. You cannot be serious. You don't need London here - since you agree on how bad Barca were in 2008. 2008 was Worst team ever in Barca's history with Frank & Pre-Messi era. They were same like our current Chelsea side. Barca barely managed to get past Celtic in R16 & you won against THAT Barca by a marginal 0-1 over two ties.
