Lets see what you all predict Sam will do and what you would like to see (bearing in mind no Lens or Watmore, and Larsson, Kaboul and Kirchhoff presumably not yet fully up to speed). For me... What I think Sam will do: --------------------Mannone------------------- Yedlin--------O'Shea-----Kone--------PVA -----------Catts--Rodders--M'Vila----------- N'Doye-----------Defoe-------------Khazri What I would do: --------------------Pickford-------------------- --------Kone----O'Shea---Kaboul---------- Yedlin-------------------------------------PVA -----------------Catts----M'Vila--------------- ----------------------Khazri--------------------- ----------------Defoe---N'Doye--------------- I'm generally not a fan of the 5-3-2 but West Ham seem to play best against teams that attack them. I think our best chance is to sit back and soak up pressure, and try hit them on the break with N'Doye up there as a target man so we at least have a chance of making something stick if we're getting pegged back and have to hoof it out from the back.
That doesn't look much like a "West Ham lineup...." to me, mind It looks much more like a Sunderland line-up
Edited OP! Still wouldn't start him personally. He's made of glass so not worth the risk throwing him straight back in after injury. He'd maybe get 20-30 minutes for me if we're protecting a lead late on.
He only got injured in our last game but seems to have shaken it off as he's been training with the rest of the squad. I'd agree with you, if he was coming back from a long injury, but not when he's only missed 75mins...
I hope and think big sam will start with the same 11 as last time if big jan is fully recovered. Don't see any benefit in changing a team that played so well against man utd.
Only Lens and Watmore are unavailable by the way lads, everyone else is fit and available for selection. Vito Yedlin----Kone----O'Shea----PVA Kirchhoff------M'Villa Khazri--------------------------Borini N'Doye-------- ---------Defoe
------------- Mannone ------------- Yedlin -- Kone -- O'Shea -- PVA -------------- Kirchoff ------------- ------- M'Vila -- Cattermole ----- N'Doye -------------------- Khazri --------------- Defoe ---------------
I'd go with; MANNONE YEDLIN KONE OSHEA VAN ANNHOLT KIRCHHOFF CATTERMOLE MVILLA NDOYE DEFOE KHAZRI Pickford Borini Larsson Kaboul Rodwell Watmore Jones
I dont see why we'd have any reason to change the team we played against Man U. Its nice to have Seb and Kaboul back for the bench.
Better options. Shows a bit of progression in that area at long last imo. It's nowt against Catts at all.
I'd still give him more recovery time before expecting him to start. His injury record is literally the worst I've ever seen, he appeared to have some sort of brace on his leg whwn he was training in dubai. I just think it would be risky to chuck him straight back in...
He's fine mate. Sam said it was nowt but twinge. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...ected-to-return-against-southampton-1-7751115
