Same with Ed Sheeran. I'm not a fan but like Ezra, he can sing, play an instrument and write songs. Same for Jake Bugg but again, not a fan.

The oldest two teams. One must be Sheffield FC, is the other one Hallam?

Yeah, at least they have some form of talent, not like ****s like Kanye West and Justin Bieber with all their bullshit ruining music.

First artist I really got into was Marina and the Diamonds back in 2010. I listened to her album religiously. Six years later, still a huge fan. She's a very talented songwriter, probably my favourite considering I've been listening to her music since I was 12, years before I really got into music.

I don't understand your problem with that, look at the structures, melodies and chord progressions in their songs and you'd find it hard to argue against it.

Its the sort of music a One Direction fan would call hard rock, much in the same vein as Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic...etc.

Or it's the sort of music Dave Grohl would call hard rock.

Speaking as someone who has eclectic, and refined taste in music (yes, I do say so myself!) you can't suggest Bieber and Kanye are ruining it.
That's just music snobbery, and perceiving your tastes are superior.
The quality of songwriting and production is great, and they are good at what they do.

If you don't like it, don't listen. As for talent, if they didn't have any then they just wouldn't achieve the sales they do.

Some people thought Bowie was a weirdo. Who am I to tell them they were wrong? I dragged the wife to his 2004 tour and she still refuses to acknowledge how good it was. Is she deluded, or does she just have different tastes.

Deal with it. Most of the stuff I "hated" back in the day I have now mellowed to as I learnt it is ok not to hate anything popular.

    Oh yeah...

Can we get back to football????

By that logic nearly all rock is pop rock.

Agreed, people are too quick to dismiss artists/genres because of their personal opinions or preconceived notions often overlooking some serious talent in the process.

All this music crap doesnt belong on a Match Day thread. Its always the same few idiots who get it started. Mods can we have this stuff that most of us have ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN diverted to a music only thread where they can bore each other to death while allowing the rest of us to read some intelligent comments on the match in question.

OLM can you do something about this. I for one am totally pissed off with these morons. Go get a room!!

    My prediction...

We are the sort of team who will win at a canter, or find it increasingly hard to break down a well drilled defence.

As its on telly it will probably be dull. Or we will click and bag a few. I have long since given up on predicting with confidence, and will just watch in terror as always until we go ahead. We won't win them all, so I am ready for any result without getting carried away whatever.

Before we finish on the music topic, did anyone get tickets to for Bruce Springsteen today?

Talking of Sheffield acts, when everyone was arguing over whether Blur or Oasis were better, discerning music fans always knew Pulp were by far the best Britpop band

Considering there is all kinds of music which can be good outside of the charts I don't see how some hyped people in the charts are ruining music, it seems a strange to make comment really. The charts mean little now, couldn't care less.

As for the upcoming game, the interviews were typical football interviews, rather boring. The questions often had the answer attached inside them as if those replying were just meant to parrot back the appropriate reply.

Feel free to post some 'intelligent comments' about the match, nothings stopping you.

Whilst no one (including yourself) is discussing the match its only natural the thread would evolve, its how message boards work.

A post moaning about something being off topic is arguably more mundane than the actual off topic posts.

Most of Sheffield's trees are in Derbyshire.

    Yorkshire club, my arse.
