Yeah, he's like that Ezra bloke who sung that song about being stuck in Romania. I was thinking about writing about my exploits in Helsinki. I have a **** singing voice too, somebody hook me up so I can make millions and be over played in pubs around the country, making duck-faced girls go woo. Yeah. Let's make that stuff happen.
See I disagree on this because Ezra isn't actually that bad and Jake Bugg (yes has grainy voice) is actually good also. Just my opinion though I suppose.
Lot of mention of "Uni" on this thread. That used to be posh. I suspect they all go to/went to polys or ex-polys. They don't seem posh enough for uni.
I'm not posh. I come from a working-class background. My university is not and was not a polytechnic, not that it matters anyway.
That was surely sarcasm? Its pop rock at best and certainly not 'heavy'. I'm not a fan but I can respect what they're doing, calling them heavy though is just a joke.
I've got a lot of respect for Ezra, he's a talented guy, although his music isn't to my taste. People write off those sort of artists without actually knowing anything about them, I got dragged to a James Bay show a while ago by a girl I was seeing, I wasn't at all happy about it but during his set him and his band had a 15 minute improvised jam session that really took me by surprise, he's talented guitarist and showed it then, I wrote him off as a generic pop act for teenage girls and he proved me wrong.
I haven't. I was just saying I'm not posh and I don't go to a polytechnic. It seems like you were insinuating that only posh people go to the old, established unis whilst working-class people went to or go to polys/ex-polys. Most working-class people might go to polys, I dunno. I reckon university admission is more diverse with regards to class than in the previous decades. I know a fair share of people from my old sixth form who went to Russell Group unis; working-class kids but very, very smart. Which uni did you go to?
