    Brown
    Rachubka
    Lonergan

No league winners amoungst those I feel :( Only Gradel and Snoddy avaliable atm i nterms of match winners. I really think were gona struggle atm, hopefully our gamble on Nunez, Clayton etc pays off, but I really think we are weaker this term and in a stronger league, I really would take 7th position right now, still need 2 defenders a striker like Del Founreso or Sinclair plus another class midfielder who'll be the Trabaat of the league, fingers crossed we bring in some talent,

after all that Nunez has shown so far (not having put a foot wrong imo), you really don't think he's going to be the Tarabt of next season? The guy is amazing. He's going to tear the league apart.

You think Tarrabt won the league for QPR? It was Paddy Kenny, Shaun Derry and the defence more than him.

We have players with star quality like he has anyway. Snodgrass, Nunez, Gradel and even Howson have the ability to change a game, but you need others to do the donkey work. Brown will do that in our midfield, and Lonergran and Rackubka seem like two consistent, reliable keepers from what I've seen.

3 good signings so far. If we can bring in a leftback, another CM and maybe a centreback then we'll have a team capable of promotion.

I am Nunez mad but im being realistic, Grayson may not play him, SG will play Brown and Clayton with Howson in front and then Paynter up top. For me Nunez has been the best player in pre season but he's not season long proven, he's had only 8 games at Scunny albeit he was superb accoroding to Scunny and the Newspapers, can he do it for 46 games tho??

Ooo and yh Trabbat walked it for them, do you not read the papers and listen to sky pundits?? Derry did well and so did Paddy, but 20 odd goals and not to fewer assists was vital

We don't need to sign star match-winning attackers, we have those anyway. What we need is to improve upon the areas we have lost players in, and so far we've done that, Lonergan > Kasper, Rachubka > Higgs, Brown > Johnson/Kilkenny. 2 or 3 more signings are needed to mount a serious challenge I feel but I also think that right now we are ever so slightly stronger than last season.

i agree bucks brown will be a great signing, i also agree with QSS in that nunez has looked very sharp in pre-season and only good reviews came from scunny, we gotta be giving this guy a chance but its hard to see how in the talent packed attacking area we have, also i dont think taraabt was that great for QPR, he was an arrogant asshole who thinks he is better than he is, players like that need a shaun derry in the team to do all the work. Which i think brown wil be doing that sort of work for leeds this year, i think if we sign a LB, CB and maybe a loan forward as a short term replacement for becchio and somma, this could be the year, maybe sign one of the trialists as a minimum as well. We will all of a sudden look like a very strong team capable of promotion,. I also thin our squad is edging above our squad last year, hopefully lees gets a chance at CB as well though

I think the quality of the current squad is better than last year. We just need to bulk it up a bit.

If we could sign a Mark Viduka type of player to hold the ball up & bring the AM's into play we'd piss this league-no problem.

Unfortunately a certain Larry thinks we've already got one. Why can't we get rid of Paynter and get someone significantly better?

Like who? It would be pointless anyway as he'd be constantly on the bench behind Becchio.

you mean that becchio who is currently injured and has recently been very prone to injury, forcing us to play paynter a lot?

But there's no point getting a permanent signing for a striker who is going to be out for a couple of games at the start of the season.

I can't see him getting a loan signing either. Paynter is "as good as becchio". As far as I'm aware someone counted how many touches he had on saturday and... the total was 1.

Our scouting system seems pretty good in all fairness. It goes beyond the realms of logic to think that in the whole wide footballing world there's not a better player out there than Paynter, someone a la Viduka.
For me its the one area that's currently letting the squad down, the focal point of the team.
Sign a Viduka & its job done.

that's reason we haven't got rid of Paynter. He's not very good but he's amazing for what we pay for him. His agent only demanded that he gets all you can eat free pies before and after every match.
