He's not the only manager to win 4 major European trophies. Bob Paisley won 4 European trophies. One UEFA Cup in 1976,3 European Cups between 1977 and 1981.All in 9 remarkable seasons. Contscrepe Okay he only had 2 jobs before Aberdeen. And it does matter that Rafa Benitez won it quicker than him...and he hasn't won ''The Treble''.
Aberdeen: Scottish League, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup, European Cup Winners Cup United: Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, European Cup Winners Cup (also League Cup). I guess you could (and KPR probably will) argue that the SLC isn't a major trophy. But given that Rangers and Celtic have won it in about 80% of the last thirty seasons that implies you have to beat at least one of the major Scottish clubs to win it. It's definitely a lot more important for the Scots than the League Cup is in England.
Four major trophies with two different clubs you muppet! Read the question!! Does it matter that Rafa Benitez never won the PL despite spending more than SAF?
The Scottish League Cup. Didn't Kenny Dalglish win that when he was Celtic manager for 6 months and thus called a failure. He's had 4 managerial positions and won trophies at 3 of them.Thats a 75% record.
Just so I can be clear KPR - are you trying to claim Kenny is a better manager than SAF ? Just interested ?
KPR would argue that the sky wasn't blue if Ferguson said it was . Having looked at all the big managers in the modern game , the only one I can see that has done it apart from Ferguson is Mourinho at Porto & Inter.
He didn't actually manage it at Inter - I wouldn't class the Supercopa Italia as a major trophy as it's just a one off game like the Community Shield. But then as Italy doesn't have a second club competition he could hardly win four at Inter!
please log in to view this image On another note, look how close Eriksson was to doing it with Lazio and Benfica.
Good point. Thank **** he didn't. A select group of Ferguson and Mourinho sounds a lot better than a select group for Ferguson, Mourinho and Eriksson!
What on earth are you talking about. The treble is the FA Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League and United achieved this in 1999.

Whiteside of Red. Quoting Wikipedia. Wikipedia also states that the moon is made of cheese and Elvis lives in Stockport and is the manager of Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Muppet Babies.
KPR really? What we won is a treble and it is a better form of treble to what you posted. It is however true that nobody has won the english "domestic" treble. But the word treble can be used for both. As for what you say about wiki stuff like that dissapears within 2 seconds. Unless youve been looking at uncyclopedia instead? would explain your "facts"
Anders does write some very good analysis, although always spoils it a bit imo by letting his anti Glazer viewpoint come out in every post. Including that one in fact. SAF says that the player we want "is not available" at the moment. Which, from Anders' point of view, means that must be because we can't afford his because the Glazers must be planning to take money out of the club, despite having taken pretty much nothing but their salaries over the last six years. Still, it does show how big the financial impact of wages can be. Like I said in another thread, the players Liverpool are currently looking to sell, particularly Cole, NGog, Aquilani, Jovanovic, Poulsen, Insua and Degen, could be costing the club upwards of £25 million in wages plus tax. Which could explain why they have to go before anyone else can be brought in.
