Saints welcome the second most popular Dutch manager and his Russian devolution to St Mary's for a battle between the two inform sides. Saints are chasing another clean sheet to equal their record for consequtive clean sheets at 7. Come on Fraser!! We March On.

    Match Appointments
Referee: Martin Atkinson Assistants: M Mullarkey, S Child Fourth Official: A Marriner

Chelski currently sit 12th in the Premier league on 33 points, a full seven points behind the mighty Saints, who sit 6th and chasing down Manure who are just a point ahead.

League Form last six games (or as the pundits will soon be calling it: The Fats Form

    )

    Saints
Watford (home) won 2-0, but should have been 5 :)
West Brom (home) won 3-0, but should have been 5
Man United (away) won 1-0 (AGAIN), easy performance where we managed to throttle back just enough so that Charlie boy could come of the bench and be the hero. :emoticon-0140-rofl:
Arsenal (away) drew 0-0, The Arsne Whingers got a jammy point thanks to Shane Long's back heel when through on goal. Fraser will be hoping for a little more action this week
please log in to view this image

West Ham (home) won 1-0, a comfortable stroll in a gentle Hampshire breeze only briefly interrupted by Vic causing a storm of bubbles, but they soon burst, faded and died
Swansea (away) won 1-0, a clean sheet AGAIN and Shane bullets a header for the win (well, their keeper made it look like a bullet) :)

    Chelski
West Brom (home) drew 2-2, conceded 2
Everton (home) drew 3-3, conceded 3
Arsenal (away) won 1-0, jammy buggers
    Watford (away) drew 0-0, boring
Man united (away) drew 1-1, conceded a goal
Newcastle (home) won 5-1, conceded AGAIN!

This form guide clearly points to a Saints win and another clean sheet as Saints don't concede and Chelski seem to like to :)

Last meetings at St Mary's that matter
    Sunday, 28th December 2014
Southampton 1 v 1 Chelsea - Mane rips John Terry a new one as Hazard gets a jammy one.
    Saturday, 30th March 2013
Southampton 2 v 1 Chelsea - Goals from JayRod and Sir Rickie see off Chelsea

Possible Saints line-up: Your guess is no Big Vic, I know - well done (again)

Forster, Cedric, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand, Targett, Romeu, Clasie, Davis, Mane, Long
    Subs:
Gazza, Yoshida, Martina, Pelle, Tadic, JWP and CHARLIE ****ING AUSTIN

Formation (there are no choices this game): Will he go for the negative and defensive 5-3-2 that keeps clean sheets and wins games or the 4-something-something that picks F**ing useless selections and a S** team? Will he play Charlie? Will he play Pelle? Will he play Mane?

    Song to sing:

"Champions League, you're having a laugh"

"Johnstone's Paint Trophy, You'll Never Win That"

    Fats' Forecast

    Southampton 1 Chelsea 0 (Pelle) :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

Another one of these please Graziano:

Oh What the hell... have the highlights from the bridge :)

Oh and because it is Rickie ...

The last 5 results were actually the last 6 results, but why should we leave Watford out...that's where it started. :)

Well, THAT has cheered me up and put a smile on my face before going outside to unblock the drains!! Come on Saints, another clean sheet, and score as many as you like.

Tough game this one, still unbeaten under Guus aren't they? Assuming fitness I would go: (3-5-2)

    Forster
    Target
    Bertrand
    Fonte
    VVD
    Cedric
    Clasie
    Romeu
    Davis
    Long
    Austin

Subs: SKD, Mane, Pelle, Tadic, JWP. Cuco, Yoshida

Not convinced by Manes form recently and think he can have a big impact from bench, would like to see Charlie start as we can create some chances then I'm certain he will take one! Can't make a case for JWP over any of the 3 other midfielders for this game.

    Come on Saints!!

P.S. That free kick video made me miss Rickie :(

Well done FLT. At least one ordinary member here realises that there is an EDIT button to use. Fat fingers need not always be a problem. :)

2-0 (rather than my usual 2-1 cos I want another clean sheet)
Davis and Pelle (please Graziano, start scoring again!)

    Cracking match thread.

Bit nervous, they have looked very good again recently. Would be happy with a point, I'm gonna say 1-1.
If we keep another clean sheet, I am celebrating!

Sadly I am going to have to miss this game as my knee is still buggered and I will never get up those bloody steps let alone walk to the ground. I was hoping that the very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov would stay at home and look after me but she has offered her friend my ticket and they are off to the match together. I hate listening to the match on the radio so let's hope there is a nice old black and white film on the telly.

A win here and we'd be back 'on the radar' officially. Old Gus isn't daft tactically (or bloody stubborn like Jose could be) and has the confidence flowing again in the Chelsea team, it will be tough. I'm going for a 1-0 to Saints but can we not score too early so my heart rate and alcohol consumption are kept to reasonable levels please.

This will be tough. Sunday morning could even see the resurrection of Tintin.

Their defence can be got at though.

I shall be trying to navigate the mean streets of Brixton attempting to park a massive tour van at this time. But the radio will be on. Oh yes! COYR!

Excellent Fats, thanks for the positive vibes, man.

I will be out walking along the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal into Bath on Saturday afternoon, to raise money for Dorothy House, a local hospice. I will have to rely on the presence of 3G signal to my portable communications device to get updates on our score (I say our score because Saints will be the only ones doing any scoring). Pellè will break his duck for 2016 I'd say, so we might have to wait until the second half before the fun really starts.
