Not that i'm losing the arguement, i just find it totally funny that you think that we have to be envious because of what you have achieved! it truly was the biggest load of 'we are so great, look at us' bollocks i have ever witnessed! Somebody said on here earlier that the championship last year was poor, and i would whole heartly agree with them, in most seasons we would have been struggling right to the last day, not because of the squad but because of the poor management. Yet you think that you will the premiership by storm and beat established sides regularly! there is no harm in saying we will struggle and hopefully we can survive.
i really can't see colchester climbing the league ladder that quickly warky! even if they beat you tonight, thats hardly a great indicator... i only ask where he is because surely mikey, the fountain of all FACTual knowledge, will be able to determine where city will finish this season! if he says 'city will finish bottom with 0 points - FACT!' we will win the league with a 100% record. if however he says 'city will do really well and stay up comfortably - FACT' we are doomed...
guru, guru, guru, thats not what i am saying at all. i am saying i would be envious of you if we were in the championship and you were in the premier league. not because i envy your club or your history or your beautiful face, because i want my team to be in the top flight. comprende? i totally agree the championship was poor last year - i'd go as far to say it was the worst standard it has been for ten years, but you can only beat whats in front of you! but you make stuff up! i don't think we will 'take the premiership by storm'... i think we will survive - there is such a massive difference!! i think we can beat bolton, wigan, villa, stoke, swansea, qpr, newcastle, west brom, sunderland, wolves, blackburn, fulham and everton, certainly at home and i'd say we will win 2 or 3 away from home too. take out the top 6 or 7 teams and its a tough league, but its competitive. we'll probably take one scalp of the big boys too - we usually do. so thats 13 teams that we are capable of beating. we won't beat them all and we'll lose some we should win but you make it sound like we have absolutely no chance. that is a very, very foolish thing to do. if we don't struggle it will be a surprise, but you can struggle in that league and still survive.
Stoke, Bolton, Villa, Everton, Blackburn & Fulham - Not away from home poss a draw! Mind you having Ruddy in goal for you will be a big bonus as he was afterall Everton's best player when you got him! I just hope he doesn't get injured early doors by having to pick the ball out of your net too often!
Just to be pedantic for a bit. During the war known as the great war, Churchill wasn't prime minister, but was Lord of the Admiralty, before losing his jon after an offensive in the Dardenelles went tits up. Here endeth the lesson. Now that is HISTORY. ps. Morning chaps.
yes warky, i meant at home we are capable of beating those mentioned. we won't beat them all but we will probably beat 7 or 8 of them. 2 or 3 away wins, a few draws and thats enough to stay up! not easy but achievable, even you will admit that. not quite sure what point you are trying to make with ruddy - i guess you are trying to be funny but its not really worked for you. he is a good keeper and is solid. he'll definitely be busy this year but he is a capable keeper! he has played in the scottish premier league - he even got in team of the year - but thats basically the same as the championship so we shall see...
Supers You stated on a post yesterday that you only bought the best players from other clubs so in my reckoning your saying that Ruddy was the best player at Everton when you got him!
I agree with what you said Maestro but i did say 'A' and not 'THE' i thought that revealing the fact of two world wars would have blown his mind.
vaughan - palace's best player bennett - brighton's best player pilkington - huddersfiled's best player de laet - one of pompey's best players morison - millwall's best player naughton - leicester's best player johnson - leeds, err, not sure - opinion was split!
