History is history FFS. Whether it's recent is void. If it's already happened it's history, yesterday or yesteryear - it's history. What happens next year is the important thing #historian
If we have a whip round will you hold your breath Bluey? I think everyone who's witnessed your razor sharp wit will contribute.
Morning all. Well last wasn't the utter drubbing you all wished for and some of us Gooners were fearing. We lost. We lost 0-2. We had chances that we didn't take. Barca had chances that they didn't take. It could have been 2-4. We lost to Barcelona arguably the best team in Europe with the best front 3 in Europe. We weren't disgraced by them and there was no humiliation despite the wishes of Hiag. Football is a sport, it's a game. No one died. Get over yourself. Away leg will be a humiliating 8-0 drubbing and Hiag will need surgery to his cock
Ah but the highs are spectacular my manc friend, you should remember this from the 80's but then again you were probably supporting Watford until about 1990. Back in the 80's you see Utd would knock out a cup run now and then but fail miserably in the league but the proper fans would keep hoping and dreaming and now and then they would be rewarded with a pot. Utd then became a footballing force and gained lots of fans who quckly became arrogant and felt that they were simply entitled to win things because of who they are, other fans came to detest these horrid creatures and have therefore enjoyed the recent decline. Hang in there I'm sure your fortunes will change again and you'll be back on top soon, winning the league and doing well in Europe. City are just a flash in the pan they'll soon fade away and your rightfull place at the top of English football will be restored, next year is yours. That's what I told myself 25 years ago.
I'm one of the lucky United fans. I grew up accepting that a cup run was the best we could hope for and that Liverpool was the dominant force in English football. Fergie coming along and changing everything was a very welcome surprise! Basically my experience of football is the reverse of a Dipper who is the same age as me!
And so the new cycle has began, City taking your place, Utd in decline and denying that it's happening 2 seasons quickly turn into 20 hope becomes delusion, every new manager will become the messiah, tales will be told to young children of how magnificent Utd were back in the 90's and those kids will turn to each other after you leave and say "did they even have TV in the 90's? The old mans lost it".
City maybe. Anything can happen. If they get through (and let's hope they do for our co-efficient) they could play Wolfsburg, Zenit or Benfica in next round. Beat them and they are in semis. They are better than Chelsea 2012 and Liverpool 05 on paper To park the bus you need mental strength. Silly mistakes = weak
Probably. I just hope I don't become a bitter **** like 90% of the Dippers! Then again I didn't choose my team because of the glory that I assumed would last forever!
Why did you choose United over City then? Were you born in a red part of Manchester rather than Moss Side (if that is a blue part of Manchester) say?
We'll bookmark and come back in 25 years, a lot will happen and I have money on it with @Bodanki that you'll be called AstroStan.
They are such a shambles of a club you could hope they would go 25 years without a title, but football is more about money now and their strong commercial side means they will have money to buy league again
I wasn't given a choice (thankfully!). Although I don't have a deep rooted dislike for City. I'd rather you won the league than Arsenal as football belongs to Manchester. I think you'll enjoy being a City fan until such time as you choose another team.
