Watched the third episode of the new series tonight and it was one of the worst episodes of anything I've ever seen, supposedly a comedy episode but it was absolutely dire. Yet reviews and viewer feedback is saying it's a classic episode, totally genius. I feel like I'm going a bit mad, fortunately my wife hated it too so at least it's not just me. Anyone else seen it?
Yes I saw it - not good. The best of the x-files always had an edge to it. I hope this was a one off.
Haven't seen any of them yet. They're all recorded, just haven't got around to watching them. Everyone seems to be totally underwhelmed by it so far. The way things are going I may not even bother. I don't get to watch much tv these days and don't want to waste my tv time watching crap when I do get the chance.
Probably mate they don't seem to have much to say plot wise so that's most likely it. Thing is the third episode was a comedy/spoof one and apparently it's an X-Files tradition to have one funny episode a season, though I've seen nearly all of the good seasons and I'm buggered if I can remember the comedy ones. If your tv time is limited I'd give this program a miss there's a lot of better stuff available.
We must remember that this is just a TV show and not to be taken seriously. However, there are some aspects of the show which are known to the 'powers that be' as being actually 'the truth' - you know, "The truth is out there"! This is called 'cover-up by ridicule' and is used predominately on the History Channel using blokes like Georgio Tsoukalis (the bloke with the hair who say's "We don't know, so, IT MUST BE ALIENS"!). As you enter retirement in the future and exhaust all the things you had to do you will turn to the internet and start asking those questions you have always wanted answers to but couldn't be @rsed. What you will find will amaze you especially when you read the original Bible - the one that King James abridged in the 15th Century - as all the answers are there. Nothing to be frightened about, you will just learn the truth. A word of advice, if you want a Plumber you don't ring an Electrician do you? More often than not you will not pick one at random from the phone book either but will ask around your friends to see if they can recommend one. The same applies when you are seeking knowledge on the net. Ask the people who are experts on the subject you want answers to and not these 'conspiracy theorists' giving their own versions. There are many accredited sites where you can ask for recommendations and you will be given the names and sites of authenticated experts. You will be much enlightened when you get round to it.
