Yet lost? Great tactics <ok>

It was a home tie, you had to come away with something - yet he totally bottled it.

Yes lost by 2 instead of 4 or 5. Either way Arsenal doesn't win. We executed the tactics and were let down by two silly mistakes tonight. Barca weren't all that great. End of.

Barca weren't that great, because we kept them under control for the majority of the game. Two mistakes cost us, but that was the only difference in the end. The 'slaughtering' that was predicted turned out be yet another wum fail.

You can't base that on one game between the 3 of them tho!!!

They've ripped everyone a new one this year, including Real Madrid etc etc. I expect a much more clinical showing at the Nou Camp. Especially as they're safe as houses now.

Yeh but it's also the toughest part of the toughest competition they're playing in, so every game is a good indicator of how good that front 3 is. I'm not knocking them at all btw. I just didn't see anything above and beyond some of the best in history. Although I do see it in La Liga.

Yes but all that's totally hypothetical. At the bare minimum you should try and win at home. Not hope for a draw and then hope to win at the Nou Camp.

Exactly why Arsenal are always the laughing stock in Europe. You have the squad to do well, but inexperience against the other big clubs is so obvious.

Says the Kopite who's side scrambled a 0-0 at the mighty Aufsburg (who?) last week and got bummed all over the place last season in the CL and then the EL.

Yes you should try and attack - by imposing your game plan on the opposition more effectively than they can manage. Be it counter attacking football or whatever. It just so happened that that was the tactic we decided to use. It's ironic that both goals came from errors, so the game plan isn't to blame tonight. We had plenty of chances to score but wasted them. That was the big failing.

I wouldn't talk about laughing stock in Europe... you gotta be in it in the first place.... rather that than be a laughing stock OUT of Europe. <laugh>

"Yeah, you're mum stinks, too!"

This is a football forum, lads, not an exclusive club for tossers.

We weren't hoping for a draw though, we were trying to win the game. The point is that if we'd just gone gung -ho then we would have got picked off and lost by 4 or 5. You have to set up to try and prevent Barca from playing and try to nick a goal when you have possession of the ball, that's exactly what we did. It was two errors that cost us, not the tactical set up.

Tobes this isn't about Liverpool. I'll happily admit we're no where near the position to challenge in Europe.

But these ****ers are constantly doing nothing when they have the opportunity.

I'm not quite sure why I can't have an opinion just because my team is **** <doh>

You can't say that though as it's completely hypothetical. You might have won. That's the point FFS <laugh>

You can have an opinion, but doesnt stop you looking like an idiot when you support......Liverpool, who aren't even in the competition, and have been it only once in the last 4-5 years, and you can count yourselves out AGAIN, next year, and the year after. ****s sake, as bad as United have been this year, they are STILL above you. You lot are only 5 points above Chelski despite how bad they have been.

Arsenal did well in the first half, and they were eventually overcome by the best club side in the World at present, no shame in that, they did have a go but fell short.

You're talking ****e if you think they didn't try to win the game.
