For me, no TV series has topped Band of Brothers. In terms of current shows, Fargo is my personal fave, followed by Game of Thrones (though I have a bad feeling about GoT now they are ahead of the books).
I didn't really enjoy the last season of Game of Thrones that much, the books seemed to peak before the last book too which was pretty rambling at times. Maybe they should try and end it with a series of films instead of churning out more TV series if they haven't got the material to use.
I think George RR Martin has likely told them the gist of how the story is meant to go, but without the actual works it feel right. I thought last season was great, but I agree that the best season so far was the season 4.
Ive seen all of them so far. Not sure I'll watch second series.. £25 million that first series cost apparently
Abso- ****ing- lutley... Band of brothers is totally brilliant .... Sorry a fair bit pissed.... Lost at ****ing darts !! God knows why I play that ****ing stupid game........
Is anyone watching Love, the new US comedy series? I'm only 2 episodes in but it's good so far. Going to give Vinyl a whirl, is meant to be great.
That is Natalie Portman, the girl in Fortitude is Verónica Echegui and she looks like this... please log in to view this image
For some reason she turned up on a search for Verónica Echegui. When you get to my age, they all start to look the same.
Thanks for the recommendation. Watched it last night. Strange but interesting film. For the first half hour I couldn't tell if it was going to be a comedy or a full blown horror. It never did fully make up it's mind. Some appalling acting from some great actors and also from Michael Cain. Enjoyed it overall though but thought it could have quite easily have been turned into a very good film. Very much an "American" attempt at brit gothic. I think it would have been better if it had been brit made. It reminded me most of all of Ripping Yarns and the lead could also stand in for Michael Palin in any of them.
The Sopranos is without doubt my favourite series of all time. RIP James Gandolfini. I was totally, and selfishly, gutted when he croaked, knowing that was the end of the series, or at least the end with the best actor in it.
Exactly what I thought... At the start I knew it was him she saw as she was taken away, but then I doubted myself half way through....
Seen the first two episodes so far and it's very good. Some great music played too. Jagger is Executive Producer on the series.
I got bored with it actually. I might give it another go, but for some reason it seemed to drag on a bit for me
