Arsenal Replay

Can't see Arsenal agreeing to squashing in another fixture - I reckon our replay will take place same weekend as R6 matches

 

PS - Bruce is right - it's ridiculous having no games over Easter due to international friendlies. That stupid decision has only added to the problems some clubs now face

 

Would have been 48 hours but sky changed the fixture.

I'm sure they say the same about City, the rugby didn't create the bare patches on the goal line or corner flags.

Its a shared stadium, deal with it.

 

I don't understand how RL is affected by the pitch. It's not going to hinder FC's quick passing football is it?

 

Bruce is wrong. What's the point of ourselves playing competitive games when we've got maybe half the squad away on internationals?

 

We both played on it in the same day once, although we went first that time.

 

Its only had 2 games on it in the past 6 weeks aint it which is a massive bonus in the dark winter nights
It could quite easily have had 7/8 games on it another time

 

It effects the bounce and speed of the ball, bare patches on the goal line can slow the ball down making attacking kicks harder.

It also effects the speed of the ruck with soft or loose turf slowing it down.

 

It makes no difference really.
You can go to Widnes on a plastic pitch dry one week so its slower.
The next it might be wet and a lot quicker
Then on to Headingley different again and the K C again different with shorter grass

 

You say it doesn't make a difference then list a set of examples where the pitch makes a difference.

 

Widnes have an advantage being able to train and play on Plastic
Hull have played at the KC for 13 years now so i dont see whats different this coming week to other years

 

I think the point is that it's stupid having international games on a prime weekend that is normally full of football, a lot of fans get time off due to bank holidays etc. It'd be like having international games on Boxing Day & NY day!

 

I think the Championship should play through 1 or 2 of the international breaks

 

Absolutely nothing but that wasn't what we were discussing.

Someone asked how a pitch effects rugby and I answered.

 

Well this week the grass will be longer for Thursday night than it will for Friday.
There aint really any bare patches barring the in goal areas

 

So are we ever gonna get this replay date confirmed? Have I missed something?

Surely the longer they haggle over the date the worse it is.
Almost 4 days to decide !!!! Really poor imo!
