When, as expected, Roland tries to break even with a summer sale of any players who would fetch a transfer fee, how much do you think he will raise? Unless JBG has a terrific Euro's I think he is in for a rude awakening. None of our crocks have shown enough potential pre-injury for anyone to take any sort of risk with. Those who have remained fit have been badly mismanaged, and have regressed, even Lookman, so that their value has diminished accordingly. Naby Sarr, for whom we reportedly paid £1.8m, , would probably be released on a free. Cousins has not kicked on the way we hoped. Roland probably thought there would be a Joe Gomez or two every year, but we knew different, he will be lucky to get £1m for Lookman, and will get peanuts for the rest. Will this make him think twice about his mad experiment? Depends how mad he is!

Isn't JBG top in the league for assists?

The thing is with JBG is that he is the only source of threat for us, double up on him, and prevent him from turning on to his left and he is ****ed. At other teams they have have to worry about a creative cm, or a left winger, or a striker coming deep, so it's not as easy to double up on players. Yes he hasn't put in an adequate amount of effort this season, but he is top of the assist league + bagged himself a couple of goals. No doubt in my mind he will get a champ club next season. If he has a good euro, I don't doubt a Prem club would take a chance on him.

    1M - Lookman
    1M - JBG
    1M - Cousins
    500k - Bauer
    £3.50 - Fox
    300k - Hendo
    500k - Igor
    250k - THD
    Stick of liquorice - Sarr

We will spend the £3.50 + liquorice on an 8th choice RB and the rest will go into Roland's pocket <cheers>

i think all of them have genuinely been overpriced here. for L1, you'd be lucky to get 100k a player - none of them have even proved it in L1 remember.

I disagree with SiG. I think those valuations are spot on.

Dead wood that must be shifted out this summer [regardless of division]:

    Fox
    Ba
    Bergdich
    Harriott
    Makienok [loan]
    Reza
    Watt
    Sarr
    Johnson
    Ceballos

Players who will want to leave anyway:

    Kashi
    Bauer
    Diarra
    Cousins
    Henderson
    JBG
    Fatakole

Then you add the loans and recent short term tat like:

    Fanni
    Motta
    Suk-Young
    Poyet

our team next year will not be one of choice. it'll be made up of players willing to stay (sh1t ones), and the ones we cant sell (also sh1t ones).

they're going to have to take a massive dent to the wallet to shift half of this lot on free's for us to regroup and be able to mount a serious promotion push. being bottom of the championship does not mean you're good enough to be top of L1.

I believe our team in League One next season will be built around Pope, Solly [knees..], Holmes-Dennis, Lennon, Charles-Cook, Aherne -Grant, probably Jackson....plus a couple from the Academy and the usual collection of Roland's Dented Tins and Shop Soiled Produce from Belgium's Lidls

Yes....scary stat seeing how little we score, shows even a very below par JBG runs us and when he doesn't play we don't score

I don't see Pope staying. He's out of contract at the end of the season, he's been jeered by the fans and has had 2 successful loan spells oop north. If Roland still owns Charlton it will be because he's more determined than ever to do things his way. If he's prepared to fork out for another couple of bodyguards for our CEO she'll still be here too. So will Riga. Is there one single reason to expect anything other than a repeat of this season, unless we can force Roland out?

I think Harriott and Ba would be more than useful at L1 level. Don't think I can argue with any of the rest of your post.

He was offered a new deal at the same time as Fox. Fox signed his, but there was no word of Pope signing his so I assumed he hadn't.

No, next season will be a carbon copy of the last two under the regime. The only difference will be the lower attendances watching us, and the even worse quality of player that is recruited [if that is possible...]

Instead of looking for quality Network produce in Belgium and France, expectations will be lowered as Karel Fraeye casts his net in Albania and Transylvania.

that would be a shame if he were to leave. would really be the end of the SCP players then. only solly and jacko left, and even they might not stick around, or be able to play 44 games a year

Can I ask why Lookman is £1mil? I'd have thought double that was a minimum.

We might get more depending on the rest of the season, but you have to think of the negotiating skills of Messrs. Meire and Murray.

100%. But they will be desperate for the money considering the loss in revenue. Which means we'll take less than the million.
