The oddest thing I have ever come across was some Kenyan saints fans. It must have been 20+years ago. We were on safari and on the way back we stopped at a smallish village. Sadly I forget it's name........in the main square there was a gigantic satalite dish. The TVs was in the bar of this drinking house and yes there was a football match on the really old tv. (I'm not exaggerating when I say I think it was one of the old 12 inch ones) There must have been 4/5 adults + a couple of children all crowded round the TV shouting for Saints. When I told them I was a saints fan too they went bonkers. Shook my hand till it nearly fell off. I even had to sign a very old programme, well thumbed I might add......yes of the 76 cup final!!! Someone else had given that too them and it was a family treasure I gather. I told them I was at that final so they then wanted me to tell them all about it. I did ask what made them saints fans but could not make too much sense from their replys. But hey what did it matter they were bloody saints fans in the middle of nowhere I was truly gobsmacked.
Just think, one of the children could have been a young Victor Wanyama and you might have inspired him to set his sights on playing for Saints Beddy!
I think I told the story at least once before although I have a feeling it was on the old 606 the last time out.
Ah, that was back when I used to frequent the BBC 606 MotoGP forum mainly and only very occasionally popped across to the Saints one. I'm afraid I was knee deep in TSW otherwise. Hey, not one of us is perfect.
A bit off topic but I wonder how many we still have from the old 606... n how many we've lost on the way
He just said he didn't understand why Giroud was playing ahead of Theo as they'll need pace on the counter attack against Barca. The world nodded it's head in agreement.
