That and mine were on radio 2 this morning. Your colleague must have been listening.

Copying the Japanese internationals who were successful when they did it. I'll try to find it on Youtube. In the meantime, how about this one? This is very good:

Here. Skip right to the end and the free kick which no doubt inspired the Cheltenham one is there. Only these guys scored. Sorry about the soundtrack:

Maybe we could have a "How will a Brexit affect British and European football?" thread :)

That's too good for the Eurovision Song Contest. Where's the Oomph-pah-pah beat to it? ;)

Perhaps it's time to wheel Cliff Richard out again. He'd probably win.

The guitar is a Tanglewood Nevada strat copy. I used to have one when I first started playing and I know they're passable, not Yamaha Pacifica quality but maybe only one step down. The amp bizarrely is made by a company called 'Carlsbrg'.

    Bargain! Good nick, I hope.

Yes, I know Tanglewood guitars. I friend of mine who has been a very good musician for what must be 40 odd years has a Tanglewood Acoustic Bass, amongst his collection, which he bought on impulse secondhand. Occasionally, when I pop over to see him, he does a little solo spot for my amusement and I'm struck by the sound of it. And the build quality is pretty nice too.

The Carlsberg amp I don't know. Might look them up. I've heard of Carlsbro.

It might do better if you entered it as the Azerbaijan entry! Very er, catchy though...

I don't go anywhere near it. As the father of daughters, the grandfather to granddaughters, uncle to many nieces and big brother to my sisters it distresses me that there are men like him and worse, much worse around. As a an adult my instinct is to care for and protect the young not abuse and exploit them.

Carlsbro is a top make of guitar amp. You have an absolute bargain there, let alone the guitar as well! Congratulations!

By the way, wrt all the various opinions about politics threads, etc, I would just like you to know that in future the Mods are going to wear toilet seats around their necks whilst online. This is to remind us of the main difference between the Mod and the seat.
If you know what that is, err... Best keep it to yourself <laugh>

Is this rhetorical? I take your point though. Quite where lines are drawn is sometimes difficult to decide, but if you read the thread it is not full of "he should have his goolies cut off" comments but mostly updates on what is happening. For anyone interested they can catch up here and comment on the evidence. I suspect if it was full of vitriol the mods would close it down, and we'd all agree. I do wonder whether this is the fear behind the setting up of a political thread. I've been involved in some very sensible political debates with people with whom I fundamentally disagree (and some bloody puerile ones with people with whom I'm supposed to agree). I understand the fear, but from experience this board is largely inhabited by some very eloquent people and could be managed by our excellent mods.

Was all just a bit of subversive fun to be honest. I'm entertained by the reaction from the EV fanatics on Twitter though. They seem to be most upset the UK didn't take the risk with it!

Top gig tonight. The set for The Cult is sounding insanely good, if I say so myself!

By the way people - let's get this bugger in the charts. For a whole 79p you can change the career of 7 people (including yours truly) and change the utterly boring, homogenous face of music right now. I've got 2,000 people linked to me on Facebook. If all of those 'friends' spent a measly 79p on this (and let's be honest, the majority will spend 4 times that much this morning on a single cup of coffee) it would chart. If my friends, her friends and the bands friends all did, it would get to number one. If that happened, as well as changing our careers, the record execs would HAVE to sit up and take notice of the fact that people might actually be interested in new, challenging, different music and change their outlook on what gets signed.

Pretty easy huh? And all for an amount that nobody would notice. 79p.

    Go on! Do it!
