I think it is more to do with the audience Hiag has on offer...they only bring out a certain level of wummery. It's like Suarez when he was at Liverpool. He only needed to accomplish a certain amount in order to please his audience. He moves to Barca and boom, the standard goes through the roof and he is a different beast altogether.
