That's a shame , I enjoy walking to the match with away supporters and always wear the colours .... I grew up on a rough council estate and went to an equally rough school ...also saw plenty of football in the 70's and 80's while in my teens ...loads of nasty thugs around in those days . The current bunch of football supporters are mostly either aging , female or kids ..loads of 50 something couples like my lady and I . Too many working class youngsters have been priced out of the beautiful game . To be honest , I find todays 20 / 30 year olds at matches not in the least threatening ... They are often only loudmouthed / slighty @issed , but puny and would run a mile or burst into tears , if this 16 stone , 52 year old roared back at them . Found the Swansea lot especially pathetic .
You should be safe at Hull - black & gold? My daughter insisted we wore our scarves at Spurs the other week, I just hoped any thug would think I'm too old to attack!!
Will look at that Hull fans always used to good for a bit of repartee on 606 eh........ Mme Yorkie always insists on a top.... I put mine on only when safe in the ground etc.... although we do trail a scarf or two from the car on the drive too and from
Good one.... reminds me of the day I satnavved us to Doncaster FC and we drove up to an area of open flattened land 30 minutes before kick off...... not a happy Yorkie
Fully agree with that and it's probably the most depressing thing I've read today. It's 2016 for crying out loud .
Like to be a mild mannered sort of chappie , but from London stock and when cheesed off can go into full Ray Winstone mode . Those pesky Audi drivers are truly the best at drawing the darker side from within . That and people who smoke around me , swear , let their dogs poop on pavements , litter droppers , Conservatives , Christians , Muslim fundimentalists , camp men on TV , silent Watford supporter's , overly opinionated females ...blah , blah , blah ....Hmm , realised just about everything gets my goat these day's .
Problem with away games and travelling with just a few of us, it's very easy to become isolated and as was seen at Wolves, it only takes a few hoody rat boys and you can get a nasty kicking. So best policy at away games is not colours, a few of mates wear shirts and jackets at home games, but I've never really liked middle-aged men wearing replica shirts. Anyway, it would clash with my Audi paint work!
Put it down to a poor education . Another thing that gets my goat are bloody pedant'''''''s GRrrr !!!!!!!!!!!
Why not take a leaf out of Crocodile Dundee's book and tool up ( attempt at humour if any coppers are looking in ) ....
What gets me is people who clearly arent committed supporters who sit next you, or, worse ,behind you and ..chat..... during the game
With you on that one ....On Saturday I was sitting next to a very large gent , I resolutely refused to let him have half my seat , it was a bit cramped , but I dug in .
