Watford are still extremely tough. And Hull have a good chance of beating us at their ground. I'm not expecting us to progress much further.
Yeah, it's an excellent chance to reach the semi-finals for the third year in a row, if we can get past Hull.
Must admit this 3rd successive FA Cup is really being put on a silver platter for us...tis only for us to **** it up!
Happy with the draw IF we get through. We're at home and we've avoided Chelsea. Watford will still be a tough game, but it's not a bad draw at all.
TBH i'd be very confident of beating Chelski if we faced them in the cup, cup games are different, just like when we faced United last year away from home, for some reason, I think many of us despite our dismal record against United and especially at OT, had good feelings for the game and truly believed we could do it, and we did. I think the same would go with Chelski if we played them in the cup.
Chelsea probably played the best football all season against City, they looked very good. Also bare in mind that they don't have the league to play for so their priorities will be both cup competitions. It also looks like HIddink has got them playing good football again, which isn't a surprise looking at their quality players. They will be one of the favorites alongside us.
They did look really good, but that was a very poor City side with so many youngsters, so they were basically handed that victory on a plate by City, Pellegrini was practically waving the white flag before kick off with his comments as well. I still think we will most likely beat Chelski should we draw them in the cup. But they now have a tough draw to Everton and have every chance of getting knocked out.
Welbeck has to start vs Barca in my opinion. He would be a handful to the Barca defence. I can see him causing panic. I would have him up front with Ox on the right.
I can live with Walcott for Ox, but I don't think Giroud would be effective. We are not gonna have the ball enough so we need a runner. Welbeck is big and is quick.
We may have to resort to route one at some stage. At which point I would consider replacing Ozil with Welbz - sacreligeous, I know
I think wenger might possibly play elneny and coq with ramsey on the right, give us much more work rate and physicality and a better defensive structure. While elneny (in the very little ive seen) seems to keep the ball well, and could protect/recycle the ball better than ramsey in the centre. Then you'll have the pace of sanchez and movement of ozil (who is no slouch) to break with.
OX may start, he was not played for the cup game, and Walcott was instead, and he has also started in our last 2 league games.
I'd go for as much attack as we can, we need to win this game, and we won't with Ramsey on the wing, we need to hit Barca with a lot of pace, as they will have most of the ball and play, this will give us opportunities to hit them on the break, which is how we basically beat them last time we played, and even when we drew 2-2 with them, was largely down to pace from the wings, which Ramsey does not offer.
Well if you want pace then you'll be happy that Arteta is out! But maybe less so that Gabriel is out...
I would never take Ozil off for Welbeck, as you never know when Ozil will thread that killer pass. But I would use Welbeck in place/sub of Ox or Giroud, as his energy and pace will help us.
