We kept going with Fontaine last time we were in the championship for game after
game even though the bloke was totally out of form. His mistakes were a large
part of our relegation. What is the point of having other options in the squad if they
are not used, when a player is not performing?

He is a striker and he has scored 12 goals so far, we were willing to pay £5m for another striker to achieve that, unbelievable..

Nothing unbelievable about non performing players being replaced by other squad members.

When Fontaine lost form, he was visibly devoid of confidence, to the point where many fans almost felt sorry for him, it was wrong to keep him in at the time. However, although Kodjia was beginning to show signs of confidence draining, he was still working hard and anyone could see a goal was around the corner for him and would cure his ills. A striker bad patch was all it was.

10 games without a goal, its fair enough for some to call for a rest, Red Robin though was giving that shout out 7 games ago.

Some of Kodjia problems have been resolved by bringing in the quality of Tomlin who has proved to be a great foil for Kodjia. it was only common sense to give it some time to work once we had gone to the trouble of doing it.

Agreed. I just hope we can land another striker to compliment what we have already got.

I agree and think we need to, another reason for sticking with Kodjia during his bad patch was a lack of options available anyway. Agard was coming back from serious injury so was probably not a 'start option' until recently

Agard and Wilbs are doing a great job at the moment shoring up the side to see out games, something that Cotterill could learn from, but we will get sussed out soon and need another option too.

Never see him display an attitude he just gets on with the game and is our top goal scorer, as said when quality is along side him he produces, a top man and our MOM on more than one occasion, one of our better players, he'll do for me.

I think one thing we would all agree was that we needed some quality to provide Kodjia and
Tomlin has made a massive difference. Also Freeman playing in his more natural wide role
has definitely helped. I was pleased to hear Johnson mentioned round pegs in round holes
something that previous managers of this club never followed.

12 goals in a struggling side is an outstanding effort better than 15 in a side with all guns blazing IMO...

Wonder if we've got Tomlin on an agreed purchase in the summer. Because hate to see someone come in and drag us back into safety everyone can remember Bikey and could see the next season not signing him proved massive.

I still think come this summer when ground complete and corporate boxes full we can then splash the cash again.
Everyone complaines about the rugby but that great big Heineken sign probably paying more than 3000 season tickets a season could only be because of the rugby. So it's a contribution upstream into the footballs income. As I suspect it's put against City's books to release pressure on FFP.

Strikers thrive on confidence, you don't give a striker confidence by dropping him to the bench......
Banksy, not worth it my friend, we see it, LJ sees it...that's all that matters!!

    Specially for Monsieur Johnson

A win against Brighton tonight and we will be one of the form sides in this division.
And I have a feeling Tomlin and Kodjia are going to enjoy the remainder of this season
