Leah Shevlin says her wedding planner had to inform her that their big day was cancelled, claiming that the Scotland international didn't have "the balls" to tell her The heartbroken partner of an ex-Premier League star has claimed that she was ditched just days before their wedding in an x-rated online rant, brandishing him a "coward". Leah Shevlin says she only found out her marriage to Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor was cancelled via a last-minute email from the venue. And Shevlin, 33, has said that the Hull City star lacked "the balls" to tell her their wedding was off himself in a foul-mouthed, 4,000-word online rant. Shevlin claims that he first expressed some doubts briefly while they were on holiday, but took it no further. She wrote: "A few days in, he turned to me and he says, 'I can't get married' - he didn't elaborate, that was it. "I thought he was joking for a full 48 hours because he carried on as normal being my partner, in every sense of the word. "[...] a few days later I got an email from my wedding planner and also the manager of the wedding venue to say he had been in touch to cancel. "He had no explanation behind it, just that he was scared and couldn't go through with because he didn't believe marriage. "He tried to convince me it [is] only a piece of paper and we didn't need be together. "He wanted to remain in a relationship with me and he questioned my thinking with regard to that. He said he didn't want to get married and if he ever did want marriage it would never be with anyone other than me." The couple have a four-year-old daughter together. In the blog post she claims that they planned the ceremony together for 18 months. She added that McGregor, 34, wanted the wedding all along. But they split in June last year, just ten days before they were to get hitched in a lavish bash at Mount Stuart House in Rothesay, Bute. She added: "By the end of the holiday, I had things in perspective. "I had realised that this was most definitely his ultimate loss and most definitely the biggest mistake of his entire life. "He'd realise it soon enough. I told him to go f*** himself and I dealt with whatever was thrown at me knowing deep down that I'd dodged a f****** bullet." "There's no denying he loved me deeply (he still does, although, maybe not now after I've told the world the truth, he'll be slightly p***** that the truth is out haha) but he has a f***** up side to him and nothing and no one could or will ever change him." She went on: "Between allegations of infidelities, helping him over several injuries, career moves, an intensive care stint and Christ knows what else over the years... I was a loving and supportive partner. "Nearly a decade of our lives were spent together and for the majority of that, I loved him very much." In the blog she refers to McGregor as "the previous", and she hit out at online claims that she had cheated on McGregor. "I uncontrollably laughed at the suggestion I was unfaithful," she wrote. "I've never been unfaithful in my life and nor would I be". "So I've decided to set the record straight. Firstly I will not allow nasty rumours to be spread about me and people judging me unfairly. "And secondly 'The Previous' should have had the balls to come forward and explain the situation." McGregor played in the Premier League for Hull City. He is still with Hull, who are now in the Championship. He was previously at Glasgow Rangers. The footballer has declined to comment.
