I better register to vote. I thought Southampton was a progressive city. Why was a reactionary git voted in the Itchen Constituency? If you had any decency Royston you would leave the Conservative party immediately and join UKIP because after all that is where your interests lie.

Official statement from a spokesperson for the Fats household:

"Firstly we would like to thank all those people who have expressed their concerns at the apparent quiet from Fats himself, following the announcement of the engagement of Miss Minogue. We appreciate your concerns however we would like to make it clear that Fats has a beautiful wife who is a wonderful mother to his two beautiful children and rumours of his quiet being linked to previously mentioned engagement is a pure coincidence. Although there has been a lot of speculation in the forum media around Miss Minogue and Fats, we feel the need to draw a line under this. There was a lot of speculation around the year 1999 when Mr and Mrs Fats announced their engagement, that Miss Minogue had suffered a period of depression that led to the later release of the hit "Can't get you out of my mind" and then "All the Lovers" as she tried to put Fats out of her mind, but we can not really confirm this speculation, despite it following the rumours from 15 years earlier than that with the realise of "I should be so lucky." It did appear that the words of this song were probably about Fats.

The Fats Household would like to pass on their good wishes to Miss Minogue and her (far too) young, immature, scrawny, young enough to be her son, not really that handsome fiancé.

Fats himself has spent the day with his son at hockey and will be spending the next few days concentrating on the really, really, really, really, really, really, really positive match thread."

Bloody ****ing roadworks and bloody ****ing useless diversion signs. Just got back from Kent after leaving at 8. Should have taken 2 hours but the A2 was shut and the ****ing diversion signs were going to take me to ****ing Dover until I found a better route.

Wonderful Kent. Lived there for 6 years. Not enough trees though and a bit cold compared to sunny Hampshire.

I think we've all had one of those drives home Tom. You have my sympathies. ;)

Agree with this it got ridiculous last time and when it was asked for we were never given a decent reason as to why it couldnt happen.

    It just makes sense.

I shall discuss this with the other mods. I sympathise with your reasons Vin, and it was partly to avoid having political discussion all over the forum that the board originally came up with Beefy's Corner, now Koeman's. But now Koeman's has a life of its own and perhaps there is a need for a Referendum thread to remove that discussion elsewhere. My concern is, though, where does this stop? We have the U.S. General Election in November and there has already been loads of chat on here about the primaries and the various personalities involved. Lots of ongoing talk about domestic political issues as well. Perhaps what we need is a General Politics thread, rather than a specific Referendum thread?

In the meantime, if you want to avoid discussion of the Referendum, whatever you do avoid the Referendum thread on General Chat. Not for the faint-hearted...

Ho-hum. We know the solution. They don't.

When are they going to learn? Never?

West Kent is OK for trees, particularly the High Weald area where I am. Heavy clays made it not great for farming. East Kent is a bit of an agri desert I find.

It's strange that even people on here who are prepared to see shades of grey over football became black/white lunatics during the General Election campaign.

There is another solution, the one I chose before the General Election, which was that I just left the forum for the duration. June's a long way off, though, and I'll miss our run up to the Champion's League places.

Does anyone have experience of buying anything direct from China on Alibaba? If so, how did you find the experience and who arranged the shipping? I'm getting quotes for water meters but getting the details sorted is like plaiting fog. Any advice received with gratitude.
