Actually, seeing as he's been out for a while anyway and well rested, it could be a good game for him to rediscover his scoring touch.
13 Ospina 21 Chambers 4 Mertesacker 6 Koscielny 3 Gibbs 20 Flamini 35 Elneny 28 Campbell 45 Iwobi 23 Welbeck 14 Walcott Substitutes 12 Giroud 15 Oxlade-Chamberlain 17 Sánchez 18 Monreal 24 Bellerín 34 Coquelin 49 Macey Good bench and a relatively strong fielded. Slightly concerned about Chambers at full-back.
Bellerin needed a rest and at least he is on the bench if needed. Hull make 10 changes Hull XI: Jakupovic, Davies, Bruce, Maguire, Tymon, Taylor, Meyler, Maloney, Elmohamady, Powell, Diomande
I wonder if we will play 2 upfront with iwobi and campbell on the wings or theo and campbell on the wings and iwobi in the pocket?
Bit surprised we haven't scored yet, but our passing is still a bit slow and laboured at times. We're not passing quickly enough, in my opinion. Hull are very well organised, though.
How many stupid fouls has Flamini committed now? Ridiculous. He makes fouls in areas where there's no danger and takes the pressure off their defence.
0-0 HT. Looked very strong to begin with in the first 30 minutes, but tailed off as the half came towards the end. The front 4 have looked lively, but they've not threatened enough, especially considering we've dominated the ball. We are passing it backwards and sideways too often without making enough penetrative passes. The longer the game goes without a goal, the more they will grow in confidence. They nearly hit us on the break when Kos had to bring their striker down (lucky Mertesacker was covering). Need to up the ante in the second half. We seem to be a bit too comfortable.
As mentioned, solid positive start but then tailed off with the intensity. Unlucky not to be 2 goals up at HT. Would really like to put this game to bed straight after half time so we relax and ring some changes. Hope it's not going to be one of those days, with their keeper having a blinder. COYG!
