I've just been reading today's Journal and it seems we have even more players missing. Colo didn't train yesterday and is a doubt, Ryan Taylor is unlikely to play, as apparently is Tiote. I doubt Enrique will start and Harper will play in goal. I'd like to see a far more attacking lineup than the Orlando game so I'd go with:

    Harper
    Gosling S.Taylor Tavernier Dummett
    Jonas Abeid Vuckic Marveaux
    Ba Best

Other news in the Journal was that we were looking at the likes of Crouch, Bridge, Warnock and Shorey. These players do not fit with the transfer policy that the club have said they will use all along. The club also said that they had enough targets to not panic buy, but from the article it sounds as though they are panicking due to us not scoring yet in the states.

With L'equipe reporting that Erdinc won't be coming to us, Im starting to worry about exactly who we will end up with upfront.

I see your point. It was just the way it was worded in the article that made it seem that we were now aiming for so-called 'experienced' players.

I can just see Ba's knee exploding in the Columbus game and the shards blinding Abeid, Best, Jonas and Marveaux as well as several in the crowd...:)

yes, put our proven left winger on the right, and our new signing who by all accounts has zero link up play with Enrique, but has played well on the right on the left

Who would play right back though? In my opinion we should have flown accross a centre back (Henderson maybe) instead of a left back.

And on Marveaux and Jonas: Jonas is right-footed and if Jose isn't playing then there is no real reason that he should play on the left ahead of on the right as he can play both. Reports before we signed Marveaux said that he was very one-footed and so he suited playing on the left. Either way, they are interchangable and could switch during the game.

Our transfer policy is to tight to succeed at the top half of the table and we will lose tonight.

when does jonas ever play on the right though? that should say something about how suited he is for the role. Apparently Marveaux is very one footed, yes, but that would make him perfect for cutting in and playing short passes/shooting, something which i think is very useful in a 4231 role, since a trequarista (i.e. Ben Arfa) would benefit from passes to feet rather than crosses and it gives us more goalscoring options (i hear Marveaux has a good shot on him).

(i dont know exactly who we sent over/who's injured so i dont know who to suggest for RB, but Abeid/Vuckic are both young, attacking midfielders and i fear they'd be overrun)
