30 years ago this summer we left Eastville for Twerton because we didn't have a point to piss in and now look at us.
It's exciting, if nothing else. And, as I've said elsewhere: Rovers' future is looking Sunni rather than Shiite!
That's good then, at least you'll get a proper stadium to play in, are they worth £70 Million, it's what I've seen branded about ?
Here is a quote from our new sugar daddy.... Al Qadi on stadium timescales: "When we purchased the club we knew about the stadium issue but we know that a new stadium is a requirement. The legal case has to be sorted and finished before thinking of new stadium. Once everything is in order and ready and as soon as we are satisfied and everything is in place, we will be ready to go as this club needs a new stadium."

I dont know. Its the whole family that has taken over so you have to add them all together but then you dont know how much each person in the family has put in. Abdulkader Abdullah Al-Qadi is the family head. I think he is worth the £70 million that is branded about but I dont even know if that figure is right. Just what I read myself. But nothing official for it. I also dont know how much the other family members are worth. His son Wael Al Qida is the face for the family and been installed as club president. They own a bank and some own hotels and involved on travel. I couldnt even begin to think of a number of total worth. I am sure though they wont be alone either. Im sure in the background they will have close contacts to the family being investors too. Have to wait and see in that regard.
Tom, the link that seamge has provided, go to 3 mins 13 seconds in, Our new president confirms we are now the 10th richest club in the country. Dont know if thats out of the prem or includes the prem. He didnt want to go into his finances.
According to my mate who's pretty far up the food chain at Lloyd's Bank - the Al Qadi's bought HSBC's Jordanian operation for $1.2 billion. Apparently we're now the 10th richest club in the country!
I need to be convinced about this Steve Hamer bloke though........ http://www.independent.co.uk/news/b...son-consultant-insider-knowledge-8998863.html http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/.../former-swansea-chairman-hamer-middle-2072732
How do you know? You can only spend a certain about of revenue. How do you know what revenue we will get? We may do a Man City and cheat the system. The Al Qadi family may pay the club big money to sponsor all 4 stand!! Man City owners paid the club £400 million to name the stadium the Etihad. They paid more money to get the Etihad as shirt sponsors too. All classed as income/revenue. Im not saying the Al Qadi family will spend this much, of course now. But they may spend some on this to gain us more revenue so will have more to spend under the FFP. Who knows
