There are actually far better quality Merino Wool brands out there, with Smedley you're mainly paying for them to be English made, rather than the quality of the wool.
I've tried loads of Merino alternatives - Smedley works for me and is unrivalled. Though everyone will have a different opinion on what works for them. Lyle and Scott jumpers are ok too. It comes back to about 3 years ago when I started to buy the majority of my stuff from British manufacturers - Shoes and Jumpers are the mainstay of what I felt was a success. Smedley Jumpers, Church's or Cheaney shoes.
They made tinned sausage rolls which sounds like the most disgusting thing imaginable, glad this was before my time
Who put em in the ground in the first place stan?? Smedleys were from your neck of the woods too. I like going off on a tangent. Mr Smedley sounded a decent fella http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...nitas-assisted-suicide-was-filmed-by-BBC.html
Prinny Quay started dying when they booted all the shops off the top deck and put in a poxy pictures, no wonder footfall fell when nearly everyone watches flicks on a night, then again targeted little kids with that play centre ****e on the bottom deck. I used to enjoy going in there when it first opened and up until the cinema took over it was doing well
The own brand ones in Debenhams and HoF are actually better wool and they're only £50-60, or for a real premium Italian Merino, Nigel Hall's v-necks are £95.
How much for a v neck Morino from the outlet shop? They sell a few Smedley bits and bobs in Reids( the shoe shop) but it's a bit pricey. I bought a La Coste one about two months ago for £120 and it looks ****ed already. It's the one where the crocodile is the same colour as the jumper so reduces the chav factor. I've got a few Ralph Lauren ones and they stay in good nick for ages, same as the couple of Lyle and Scott ones I've got.
Loads cheaper - about £50 a pop. I was passing in January and they had 20% off the ticket price. So I came away with 6. For me, my opinion - nothing comes close. There's nothing wrong with the outlet ones either. The Mrs bought a full price one for me a couple of years ago and it was exactly the same. It's just a pain location wise as it's in Lea Bridge near Matlock. I respect OLMs opinion, but Smedley rule the roost.
Bwahaha! There's no ****ing way you paid (**** you Quill, almost typed payed ffs) 120 quid for a jumper! I bet you still have your old Noggie fleeces and green jumpers you wear! With a DP jacket. Meanwhile, I received 2 new Weird Fish Tshirts yesterday, the Sex Fishtols one of Never mind the Pollocks, featuring Squid Vicious and Johnny Roe-ton, and a Star Wars - The Empire Striped Bass. I love a good pun, so these are right up my street, plus they're actually great quality too. 120 quid. **** the **** off.
£139 ok , jumpers are **** anyway - sweeping statement maybe but , look its just a cardigan without buttons !!!! i dont ever see the point of a jumper / woolie / sweater or wadderurgh . They all look crap after their first spin , unlike a tee , a shirt or even a zip up hoodaaay , - i do remember in the early 80s wearing those fake god awful "inditalian" horror show jumpers off the shops on hessle rd , that till i was able to persuade me mam to get me legit ugly Pierre Cardigan spripey **** from PREM
