You say Messi has been surrounded by world class players - so has Ronaldo.

Ronaldo received a standing ovation at Anfield when he was substituted in their 0-3 massacre with Madrid. I can't stand him as a human being, and God knows what he's up to with all this designer baby and beard of the month nonsense, but, as Jimmy said, he's quality and no-one can deny that. Messi is the better player though, and on form Suarez is practically unplayable. Youre a tad bitter not to concede that.

No absolutely not, he would have stayed. And I'm not holding that against Messi btw. I'm looking at Ronaldo and Messi equally critically. Imagine Ronaldo coming through as exactly the same player he is, at Barcelona, playing alongside greats such as Ronaldhino, Etoo, Deco, Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Alves, Pedro, Suarez, Neymar throughout his career. Then imagine Messi having to carry the likes of United and Real Madrid. BUT now, here's the thing - personally, I don't think Ronaldo would have been as good as Messi at Barcelona. But likewise, I don't think Messi would have been as good as Ronaldo at United or Real either in a Galacticos set up. In that sense, I think both players have achieved greatness in their own unique way which the other would have imo unlikely lived up to.

The only thing I'd pull you up on Frank about Ronaldo, is the comment you made earlier that he's selfish. This is a bit of an urban myth and it seems the more that ppl say it, the more it becomes the accepted truth rather than the reality. I can't believe that anyone who's watched him play week in week out over the last 7 years at Real Madrid honestly believes that he never links up play or given the chance doesn't pass to his team mates if they are in a position to score. Whether he picks the ball up in midfield and looks to create space for others, or whether he's driving into the penalty box, he'll still play the pass or cross or one-two if he feels someone else is in a more favourable position. Yes, he screams and has his theatrics when he feels he's in the better position to score and isn't given the pass, but likewise if he feels his team-mates are in a better position he'll play them in. His frustration is often borne ouut of his desire to succeed, and his whole career and work ethic has been abot that. To think of him as simply a bloke looking to have everyone provide for him and personal glory is naive as he wouldn't have got very far if that was all he's about. He's an intelligent footballer and ppl can't fault his decision making. There is a maturity to his game which often gets missed, and it's a maturity which is far more prevalent as he's got older.

I saw a game where Bale, I think, scored and ran off celebrating in one direction followed by his team mates while Crissy ran the other raging that Bale hadn't passed the ball for him to score.

Great player. Absolutely made the best of himself and his tallents but just comes over as someone who loves himself and its all about him.

Just seen this on the Arsenal board ;);););)

'All the talent in the world'. One of modern day footballs biggest myths, surely?

Both brilliant players, both at their best on the wing. Hard to compare them really, Ronaldo is a power player and Messi has incredible ball control.
I think Messi is the better player and the fact he is 3 years younger than Ronaldo, with more time to score goals

De Gea is not playing due to his injury in the warm up.

Tickets for the game are apparently £71, who do they think they are FSG
