Off Topic Mafia game: The island

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by moreinjuredthanowen, Feb 8, 2016.

  1. Don't know, hence me only highlighting the first point in that section <laugh> (I haven't kept any notes, rarely do in these games because I'm in various locations so makes it difficult)

I was hoping someone else would do the next bit <whistle>

Just looking at the voting table, it looks like he was the first to vote for each person each day (would need to read back through the thread to see if others had posted before him and then changed). What is interesting though he has voted for DPP, ACS and ACS (again) - that bit doesn't fit with what I was told!!!!!!

    Part 2 of 2

If I was able to then be responsible for a second killing of a mafia member (same rules apply as before), then I would then have someone join me in solving the clues.
This person would be convinced of the truth of my theories after the second mafia death and would gain access to my QT board (which Mito would only give me once I gain the first ability).

All along this recruit was referred to as just that, a "recruit". I have no idea if those acolytes are supposed to be the recruit I would gain if I could access my ability.

Obviously I have not got access to my ability yet. You'll see on each day I voted for someone early on and stayed on them all day to try activate this ability.
I was stoked when DPP turned out to be an Acolyte as I thought that meant Mafia, however Mito said my ability was not activated yet hence I knew that the Guards must be the real Mafia team.
I really thought ACS was a Guard or the Warden hence my comment last night that "it was a really important vote for me". I knew I may need to reveal my info & the clues when i got them so started laying the seeds already.

Obviously he was an Acolyte as well so I'm still just an ordinary townie at this stage. No idea why I'm linked to acolytes, if they joined my team surely that's a strange term for them, unless they worship my craziness.

  5. I'd already checked the voting tables in the OP and following comments. I guess you'd only need to find the first table update for each day though rather than reading 94 pages

  6. Unless he was getting a early vote in to distance himself but with the first and third days being land slides there wasn't much point in changing? He would also know he would look innocent should they die

All my comments regarding the escape are just my opinion, I have no idea how it works. I was just saying I would set it up the way I explained.

He couldn't have changed anything with a switch on day 2 or day 3. However on day 1 he could have put DPP into a tie and potentially saved him. That would kind of be a give away though and its usually best not to try and obviously save a team mate unless things are desperate.

  10. Fair enough, but I had responded and asked you a last twice without response. I think the winning conditions make it pretty clear we won't escape via a direction, the bad guys have to be dead for us to escape. I can't see us having to still choose directions to escape after the bad guys are dead!

Or neither of us is lying and we are both just really crap investigators <laugh>

I honestly don't see much room for doubt though in my investigation results and the way they were worded to me. I am not allowed to cut and paste, but my wording reflected the certainty of the results I got.

Also when people started to vote for ACS tennis started telling people only to vote for him if they had a reason and not to pile on (if I remember correctly). He also made a big deal out of how important it was that he was right in lynching a bad guy...could that have been them using ACS death to make tennis look innocent once they realised ACS would swing?

Not sure which way I am swaying here.

If he is the leader of that group it would make sense to hide him as well as possible. Tennis is a very good player with tactics - maybe less so with being a cop - but overall a very good player. I certainly wouldn't put it past him to do this.

No offense but that's ridiculous. So if you're in a team of three you ONLY vote for your two teammates by leading the vote for them both times, just so you can look innocent? No point in looking innocent if you're the sole remaining person in a team of 3 initially.

I have no teammates, I had no clue who these acolytes were. I just picked DPP day 1 as one of the quiet posters, it was virtually a random choice as I had no real suspects. I just stuck with him in case I got lucky and he was a guard.
ACS I had suspicions about so I voted for him day 2 and 3 and actively encouraged others to vote for him.
If you think I'd do that to teammates then you must really think I'm a terrible Mafia player. <laugh>

For now I'm going to go with Tennis but I could still be persuaded either way I think.

These conditions also look very very difficult to fulfil. Being the first person to vote is not an easy ask at the best of times. I know Tennis is two hours ahead, but all of the roles were written before they were assigned, and then assigned at random. It seems a very demanding list to achieve, never mind to achieve twice to gain rewards in a short game.

I'm not saying Neville is lying. I think he is the M.E. as he has a ton of info on the deaths.

I'm just shocked that I'm linked to the acolytes. All I know was I could potentially get "a recruit", there was never any mention of acolytes at all. And nothing religious.

My story checks out, see my voting history and all my long posts. I'm an ordinary townie trying to unlock abilities to help us escape.

  18. You're getting a bit defensive now Tennis <laugh>

I never said ONLY did I? I said it's a way of distancing yourself. You could have changed your vote later should you needed to. It also gave you the chance to post you "voting analysis" which you suggested anyone with zero success for voting for bad guys was indeed a bad guy themselves. This itself is ridiculous since innocents don't know who is who. not to mention the fact that you marked me down because the two I voted for are still alive <doh>

    Tell me about it.

If you look at previous games I hardly ever vote early, I actually get accused by some (Mito especially) of 'following' on votes too often so they think I'm a bad guy.
The way I've voted in this game is totally out of character for me.

  20. I thought the whole lot was a bit detailed tbh. Not sure MITO would allow for that to be posted if genuine, even if he has changed the wording.

That was due to me not wanting to catch the usual "useless cop" comments if I get a call wrong. I lead the voting on ACS and maintained that he was guility in my eyes, I'm a bit tired of the known innocent cop debacle that I experienced that one time. <laugh>
