  9. I said at the start of the season that if I got the choice of any three strikers in the world I'd pick the three at Barca. Truly awesome, all three of them.

Did anyone cover the news that real are under investigation for the bale transfer.

Apparently some friendly banks bailed out buy europe guarenteed the transfer fee and this breaks eu laws.

The cheating going on with real is astounding.

Now barca are no saints either but.....

    Banks underwriting real transfers.
Barca players as a whole under tax scrutiny.

    Mascherano. Messi. Neymar....

It seems to me there is a big Madrid based effort to rig the Spanish league....

Funny how the leaks have come on contracts and now we've seen eu start action.. from outside Spain and fifa hit all 3 top Spanish clubs.

Inside Spain it's a different story.

I note with glee the angst in ronaldo over messi supplying that pen goal to dared.

Ronaldo having selfishly demanded every ball and goal at real to the detriment of reals chances to win now whines that suarez is ahead in golden boot.

I do find it truly amusing that the guys playing as a team (and also each better players than him individually) are out kerf or ming the spoilt child.

I hope his golden ball trophies make up for all the medals he's actually missed out on through chasing personal glory.

Not that he didn't get his fair share. He won most when made play as part of a team at Utd.

    Well said MITO.

Messi is undoubtedly the best footballer in the world but Suarez has been the better player over the past 12 months - incredible form.

As for ronaldo - I cannot stand him. He's a world class goal scorer but his overall game is nowhere near that of Suarez or Messi.

He's unbelievably selfish - he ruins great attacks because he's more concerned with either scoring himself or winning a free kick so he can smash it in from there - it happened twice against Roma when it was a 3 on 2 situation.

There was never a debate about who is better between him and Messi.

    Still a quality player though.

Just the 346 goals in 331 appearances for Madrid like, including 74 in the CL from 70 appearances, yeah nowhere near...<laugh>

Taking the "nowhere near" out of it. If you had Neymar and Suarez would you add Ronaldo instead of Messi?

    No he's not.

    messi is twice the player

just look at what he's done.

And i'm not going to play a oh he was a utd player so lets wind up the lfc lads who hate him game BTW... I was fishing for mancs but they all ran for the hill AGAIN....

Ronaldo has beaten up the spanish league consistently by ensure he is the single focus of the madrid team, getting rid of managers, players and favoring guys who pass to him.. he runs off and celebrates his goals on his own no matter if they are pens or tap ins or worldies

in what 6 or 7 years at real his record is one league, 2 cups, one CL... in a two horse race.

    Atletico have won as much

in that time Messi on the other hand by being a team player has scored a shed load too but barca have won... 3 leagues, 2 cups, 2 CL.

Messi has 7 league titles all at barca. ronaldo 5. 4 at utd.
messi has 4 CL to ronaldos 2.

    Messi is THE BEST period.

Ronaldo is IMO now past his best and suarez is better than him this year and neymar was mighty when messi was out and is still mighty now.

This three are for me much better than anything real have to offer Ronaldo included.

Did I say he was currently better than Messi?

Albeit on the 2 occasions he's won the Balon D'or he's fully deserved that accolade.

He's better than Neymar though and over his career he's been better than Suarez.

He's 31 now and still performing at a level that puts him with the very best in the game.

Kopites taking a pop is borne out of bitterness due to his United era imo.

once cos messi was out for how long?

over his career is like comparing pele to maradonna to suarez. I'd not take ronaldo at all. he's going to break down shortly in the knees everyone can see it.

Keep trying the line btw.. we might as well have a bit of banter as the mancs are hiding and crying again <whistle>

Well I can only speak for me.

I praised him yesterday and thought it was ridiculous line of questioning by press. Look at how many he has scored again this year!

    But....I think Mito is right.

If he was less ego and more team player Real would have won more trophies. A lot of the tense continuous divided camps thing is down to him.

He berrates his teammates constantly and not in a Gee up way. He is very Selfish again over and above a goal scorers norm.

He resents any limelight shining on any team mate...all seen in every match.

If he was more team he'd be as good as Messi.

It reminds me of the Hunt/Lauda comparison.
