A poll to suss our people's views on the above..... I'm saying here and now that we will. Honestly think we will finish 3rd from bottom.
I too think relegation is on the cards now that it looks odds on McLaren will still be at the helm at Stoke. I don't even think we'll beat the mackems who have shown so much more fight than us
Voted No more out of hope than expectation at this point. We are in a position where a coin flip decides relegation. Our destiny is still in our hands and we've seen plenty of great escapes over the years Maybe it's our turn to scrape out of danger?
Balanced on the head of a pin. We are awful but so are lots of others. On the whole, I think the odds are about 55% that we'll stay up.
You are going to be fine, you have the fixtures to make sure of that. Nice seeing you all sweat though
Do we deserve to go down? Absolutely, can anyone seriously say the slop we've served up this season is Premier League standard? Are there 3 worse teams in the league than us? Right now, the answer is an emphatic NO, you could only say Villa are definitely worse than us. Bournemouth and West Brom have both been poor, but both have managed to get points on the board, Swansea have significantly improved since ditching Monk, Sunderland's last 3 performances suggest they have the fight and determination to stay up, and Norwich play pretty football sometimes but are very vunerable...all of these teams look better than us. When we went down in 09 we deserved it, but even then we were playing better than we do now. Despite all the manager changing, Kinnear being a buffoon, Ashley being a blithering embarassment etc, I genuinely went into the last 5 or so matches thinking we'd stay up....now, despite spending an utter tonne, I see each fixture and think every team will hammer us. Yeah - Tufty will suddenly get it right, the team will suddenly turn on the style, and this warm weather training will go down in history as the moment the team woke up and turned things around....I think not.
Toss a coin, but it's been a crazy season - and McClaren spending 80million and getting relegated would fit the script
We will stay up after going on a 10 match winning streak ending up in 11th position. SM keeps his job and is given another £50+M to spend and he buys a new quality left back, a new quality centre back who will compliment Mbemba, a back up rb and a first team striker. BRS has a heart attack after he seeing the headline that Shola has re-signed for us, sadly if he had read further it was re-signing to his club membership. CC is sent to a mental health hospital after saying his first ever positive comment about NUFC. MA sacks Lee Charnley and appoints a footballing chairman and publicly apologises to Kevin Keegan and removes all Sports Direct advertising at St. James Park to show his true love for NUFC. Armstrong goes on loan to Sheffield Wednesday as they lost out in the Play Off final and goes on to get them promoted after scoring 20+ goals.
I voted yes. We have the manager to take us down, sadly. We look a completely different team when playing away from home, I can't even remember the last away game we won. Five wins and a draw (40 points) should keep us up in this season of uncertainties. We may have left ourselves with far too much to do.
Voted no but It all comes down to the games against Bournemouth, Sunderland, Palace, Swansea, Norwich and Villa for me. IF we can get ourselves into a position where we need to win to secure our survival against an already relegated villa side I would take that right now.
I voted no. I dunno, fckers like Ashley always seem to come up smelling of roses no matter how much sh*t they attract. I think he'll get away with it this year as well. And yet I still think we'll be comfortably done by Stoke an 'all.
True, but my main point was if that was offered to me right now I would take it. Lets face it, if we cant beat villa home or away we deserve to go down.
I voted yes simply because the powers that be, and McLaren in particular appear to be burying their collective heads in the sand. By the time they wake up ans smell the coffee it's going to be too late. McLaren should have been sacked or resigned after the Chelsea game. There are good managers out there at the present time, who ought to have been recruited and given the time between our last humiliation and the Stoke game to start the rebuilding process. It wasn't done, and that for me speaks volumes. We as a club are terrified both on and off the pitch. We are sleep walking towards relegation.
