    The Escapee Killings

I think the killings of all the escapees (including prisoner 23) are significant to the game. I don't know in what way yet, but I know we have been left a trail of clues about the killings and I think we need to try and solve them. It is possible hat we're at a huge disadvantage in this regard, now that the detective is dead.

All of the killings have certain things in common.

    Prisoner 23:

Prisoner 23 appeared to die from falling/being pushed from a balcony and breaking his neck. However, while we were examining the body we got a whiff of a sweet smelling chemical (cyanide). We didn't learn a whole lot more about this death. There are still unanswered questions like why was he missing a shoe? We weren't told definitively how he died, but we know it wasn't as straightforward as it first seemed. The first we knew of this death was when we heard a scream from the rear of the room after prisoner 23 fell from the balcony. We heard nothing before this.

    DPP:

The first we knew anything was amiss with DPP was when we heard a shriek from outside our rooms at 3am in the morning. Once we finally found DPP stuffed up the chimney it looked like he had just been stabbed in the chest, with no sign of the killer inside the room with locked door and windows. The killer appeared to have vanished into thin air. However, there are a couple of strange facts about this death that MITO has left clues to in the description. First of all, we are told that his bed had been unslept in (still at 3am) and that we removed a lock of black hair from his 'cold dead hand'. If DPP had just been killed then his hand would not have been cold. He had clearly been dead for a long time. This leaevs us wondering who the two voices were. Was it two separate people, or was it some sort of creature that transformed and so had two different voices/sounds? We are also specifically told that it is a muggy and humid night. Even after a long period of time, a dead body would only drop to room temperature on a muggy and humid night. His hand wouldn't have been cold to the touch. Does this lead us to something supernatural? Also, why was the killer still in the room hours after the death?

    Valley:

The first we noticed anything about Valley's death was the following morning when prisoner 21 discovered the body and came running into the room as we are having breakfast. Nobody had hard anything before this point. His body is floating in the pool and fluids have already started to gather in his abdomen. His body also carries markings from having been floating in the water. Both of these facts should lead us to conclude that the body had been in the water for a considerable time. There was also a smell of alcohol from his dead body. This could mean that Valley had been subdued/poisoned with something like methanol, and again the cause of death may not be as simple as it seems. We also have the long rail of slick mud heading to the changing rooms and the small matter of part of his leg having been bitten off.

    Similarities:

    1. All three killings appear to have been carried out silently. Nobody was aware of anything going on at the time of the actual deaths.
    2. All three killings appear to have been more complicated than they first seemed, and not carried out in the way we first imagine.
    3. All three deaths appear to have a strange twist to them (the snapped neck, the cold body and the bitten off leg).
    4. The last two deaths appear to have been carried out a long time before the body was discovered. We don't know much about the first death, Perhaps we would have discovered more if we had investigated upstairs?

Although we don't know who (or what) the killer was, I think finding out may well help us to learn more about the situation we find ourselves in. I also think there are probably more clues to discover, that will hopefully shed more light on what has gone on.

Thoughts on the next lynch, Nev?

On the mystery front I don't have much to add, only thing that's occurred to me that hasn't already been been noted is that perhaps the lone blood smear on the wall in the bathroom is some kind of hidden door activated by a pressure switch on the wall or something, but that's a stretch and don't know what we'd do with that info it were true.

Big thing I've been going back and forth on is how much of the game is supernatural, been operating on the game being mostly based in realism and just the mysterious nature of events making things look supernatural, but if we're dealing with vampires and ghosts and **** it means a whole different logical approach. The ghostly death tonight, Valley's leg being bitten off (unless there's s shark in that pool) and the fact that the 'dead' are meant to play a part in the game leads to more supernatural circumstances which makes things tricky as there could be any number of bullshit reasons for things happening.
