I can't say Pele or Maradona are the best as I have only watched highlights of their games. So for me it's Messi.

Maradona dragged a **** team kicking and screaming to win a World Cup. Messi sadly hasn't really shone on the greatest of stages. He is absolute quality though.

That's fair enough Beefy. Having seen them both though, Maradona won things in **** teams as he grabbed them all by the scruff of the neck and dragged them to victory. He was a genius. Messi is a genius too, but hasn't dragged any of his Argentinian teams (some of which were very good) to any victory yet. We also haven't been able to see him turn a club side around either; Maradona did that too.

Maradona was a cheating little **** though :)

I'm not convinced that Messi "took" that team. He wasn't really that good in the World Cup, not by his standards.

As a matter of interest WJ, how old are you? I'm just trying to understand your viewing of Maradona, that's all?

I've recently changed to 3-5-2 and it's like a revelation. It used to be quite tough to thrash teams occasionally. Now I'm barely trying. I even checked the settings. Yep, Special Level 6, in which you have to part with accrued PES points to get it set that hard.

    Did I say 44 going on 12? I may be 57 going on 10! :)

Ok thanks. You weren't really around to see Maradona "at the time" then, which must make it difficult to understand fully the impact he had on World Football. It is like me with Pele; I have seen hours and hours of Pele videos and can see how good a player he was, but I was born in 1969, so I find it difficult to place him above Maradona, although lots of people tell me the impact Pele had on World football. I am not saying you can't make a judgement though.

The ref has had an excellent game ....Our so called top refs Clattenburg and Atkinson had shockers under the pressure of big games last weekend. Didn't surprise me as the refereeing standards in this country have been sh*te for ages.
See Clattenburg has signed up to an Agency which also represents players....obviously trying to increase his income, some may say fair play but imo that's way out of order.

Why? Footballers earn £100k, 200k a week and refs are on 50k a year. I don't necessarily agree with it but it's not out of order.
