yep, though i'm dipping into insurance sites as we speak lol

 

I remember when i got mine for my car, thankfully i had done pass plus and waited a year before getting my car so was 18 nearly 19 when i got mine and with a year on my mums insurance so got it for 1800 and now its down to 1200

 

so jealous! I can't find anything less that £5000 at the mo ..it's doing my head in! Unless he promises to be home by 11pm...er...not gonna happen! lol

 

It really is pathetic!! All because they want to make as much money as possible!!

 

thing is, so many of my pupils have found insurance at half that..i just don't know how! So frustrating, he really wanted to drive his car tomorrow, and i really wanted him to...gutting

 

Hmmmm. I dont know what dad did other than wait the year. I do know he went on the comparison sites and then called the company and said that he could get X from Y will you beat that.

 

that's a good idea...i think that's the only way to get it down...

 

Yeah, force them down. They often just give a number and it means nothing. Once they realise there is a chance they will loose the money they squirm and cave in.

Morning all when my lad passed his test at 21 living in a rough area of manchester , for a beat up old 1 litre fiesta they wanted £3000

The only way is to put him as a named driver on your or Mr H's policy for a tear or two and hope nothing happens!
Thats what Mrs N did to help her eldest out! they wanted £1800 third party only for a moped!!

 

My first car when I passed my test in 1981 was a vauxhall viva estate, insurance 3rd party F and T £145 and I thought that was expensive then!

Morning all, the only bit of good news I know is I'm off to Brentford tonight.

Car insurance is naff and expensive (I had problems last week) and that L**** thug representing the EDL has been on too many BBC channels for my liking.

I'm off to buy my mocha!
