Off Topic Mafia game: The island

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by moreinjuredthanowen, Feb 8, 2016.

  1. I've re-read the OP and it doesn't say there are three teams. It doesn't say how many teams there are. However, it does say that one role will be separate from the others. The acolyte could be good, bad or a lone ranger. If it's the latter then that lone ranger role is already gone. would MITO tell us with it being a secret game?

It doesn't specifically tie it down to only one other role being separate. This could be a third team, or it could be an individual or individuals each having their own win conditions.

Unfortunately, the only way to find out more about this is when other roles die. If someone dies with a role that we think is clearly town or mafia then we will learn whether or not people with town or mafia roles are listed as their role or listed as just town or mafia.

No ..hard/real ..theory, more a hunch/feel (needs someone far, far, more analytical than me to firm it up)...but the rooms are there for a reason.... and its the only thing that we can use ..collectively.. to influence a successful escape ( rather than a death escape) ..I think ...

to me the rooms are an additional vote/lynch/influence thing...ie overlaid on top of the real escape/lynch vote

IF we have the right room sequence...the lynchee escapes...if not...they die

(not sure if this helps tho Nev)

It could be...its just a theory...it can also be argued it IS working together..ie overtly deciding/voting to tie the rooms ..tie 2 rooms...all room odd numbers/all rooms even numbers ...type puzzle...(problem is it has to be relatively simple ...as we would lose players to the lynch if we dont work it out quite quickly, plus we will have diminishing numbers of players each day too)

I have no idea about the logic behind this, but am willing to give it a go. Worst case scenario is that it means nothing and our next move is decided by coin toss.

Thats kinda my take...try summat to see if something falls out (or something the analytical types can spot pattern wise)

<laugh> ..another problem...one failed attempt doesnt disprove my hunch mind...there agin, it could be a complete bollox of a hunch...BUT choosing/Voting for a room HAS to be significant..otherwise why have it?

one room empty? is another possible room choice?

edit: that works for diminishing player numbers over the days

    So now we're getting somewhere.

MITO has obviously based this on the Prisoner series.

The key role in that programme was No.6 - who was a lone wolf working against the village and was drugged etc trying to extract information he had as a spy.

So AFC is a key role in this game.

<laugh> everyone spends 10 times the effort justifying/explaining ...why they cant be posting for a few hours, than they do playing the game

I did. I don't know anything about the prisoner series, but if there are lots of references to it, wouldn't that make things a bit obvious?

That seems slightly less sad than spending 10 times more effort reading sites about sweet smelling chemicals to work out poisons, forensic pathology sites to work out how people died and fan sites about the prisoner series to get clues. Not that I am doing that of course <whistle>

He may have been banking (given the age of the participants) on not making the direct correlation?

It's definitely based on it though, even down to the sphere squashing the escapee in the garden.

No.6 was the key figure in that programme, so AFC has definite relevance, to ignore it would be plain daft,

Whether we're supposed to protect him or kill him is where the conundrum lies......
