The old advice is... if it's still there in 3 weeks time, go and see the doctor. This refers to coughs or colds etc.. though I can imagine someone taking the same advice for a broken ankle.

Google it DTLW. There's plenty of NHS advice on the Net.

    I Googled out of curiosity.

It's probably what LTL says, but here's another medical opinion: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001444.htm

    Hope your finger feels better.

Don't trouble a medical person for this. This is a simple amputation and can be carried out at home. Have plenty of towels handy. There are two or three excellent "Amputate that pesky limb" videos on You Tube.

    Worryingly, there probably are ....

Darn. Should have phrased that better. Sadly I do know who he is. Perhaps I might have asked why his view on gays should be given publicity. But "Who the **** is he" was more succinct!

On the BBC News website, real world testing of vehicle pollution in a busy street. As a motorcyclist I try to avoid or get past buses and trucks as quickly and safely as possible, simply because they will almost certainly belch a huge quantity of of partially combusted diesel particulates, as soon as the traffic moves in a stop-go situation. I also look out for any diesel cars because it isn't rare enough that they do the same belch. Getting a whiff of unburnt petrol is bad enough. Getting near diesel particulates is awful. I think there are going to be some surprising findings:

I find it amusing that a motorcyclist is worried about pollution....your biggest hazard is riding a motorcycle. I felt the same when my son (a smoker at the time) was bothering with a healthy diet.
