If anyone can paste from the club's website then ticket prices for next season are going down in price, happy days.
SAFC cut season card prices Published: 15th February, 2016 by Oscar Chamberlain Stadium of Light offers some of the cheapest prices in football. Sunderland AFC has announced price reductions throughout the Stadium of Light on season cards for the 2016-17 season. Already offering fans exceptional value for money, a Sunderland season card will now be one of the cheapest in football. Next season, adult season cards are priced from only £350 (£18 per game) and supporters over the age of 65 can enjoy a special price of £250 for their seat for the new campaign. As the club continues to encourage the next generation of supporters, young adults under the age of 22 will pay just £170 for the whole season, and the stadium’s popular Family Zone offers a fantastic value-for-money adult and junior (aged under 16) package for £375. Honouring a long-term commitment to providing fans with an affordable pricing structure, Sunderland’s season cards are significantly cheaper today than they were over a decade ago. In the 2003-04 season an under-16 season card at the Stadium of Light was £133, and next season the same season card will cost just £50 - a reduction of over 60% - and it highlights how the club’s ticket prices have been consistently reduced over the last decade. Chief executive Margaret Byrne said: “Keeping the cost of watching football at a realistic level is something that is very topical at present, but for us it has always been at the top of our agenda. With the reductions that we have implemented a family of three, for example one adult and two under 16 year olds, can enjoy a full season of football for only £400. “We know that the fans are what make this football club great, and we hope that as many fans as possible will continue to have the opportunity to come to games and support the team.” The season card renewal process will start from Monday 7th March, and supporters have until 5pm on Wednesday 6th April to complete their seat renewal - new season cards can also be bought during this period. Renewal packs for existing season card holders will follow within the next few weeks. please log in to view this image
With the additional TV money next season, it makes sense imo - why not let the fans see some benefit ? and if we are relegated, it will keep our attendances up until we get back to the Prem.
It's great though. I will be paying less than £20 a game for me and the bairn, next season. That's fantastic from the club
I'm getting 4 (again) . . . . the same as I have for the past 73 years (or so it seems) What a fool . . . . that's the closest that I could find to a 'going/gone mad' smiley
Wish I lived close enough to buy one. Would actually need two because the wifey would want to come as she's footie mad too . But unfortunately seeing the lads on a weekly basis does not make it attractive enough to move back to England.
On the BBC world news site recently they reckoned that with the new riches in the summer all clubs could afford to let everybody in for free. Be interesting to see who, and how many, follow suit.
Anyone know the breakdown for money next season? .sure i read that the bottom team will get a whopping 99 million.
I did and yes - still over 4 payments. Just checked SAFC website. Doesn't mention it for next season, so assume it's still an option
It was this season Bri but no idea about next. Quinny was a big advocate of the "spread it over 10 months" but the FSA wouldn;t let the club do it then - not sure if they've got anything in place yet for that. Think it makes perfect sense. The club (amongst many other clubs) have stated that the income from season card and ticket sales is minimal and to be able to pay around £20 a game (or less if we go down!!) for me and my lad is great - what's the point in putting prices up when you'll end up losing money as the fans won't pay it? Get them to the ground and sell them merchandise/beer etc then you end up making more money than previously! As the price is being cut to around £20 a game do we have to walk out after 20 minutes against Palace?
Cheers. The club has announced it's available. So 4 payments. around 83 a payment I think. I'll try and wrangle it.
The only time in my entire SAFC watching adult life that I have shouted for the managers head! Please don't remind me!!
