Much of what we'd known as Fulham Football Club for over a decade, was killed in one fell swoop when, 2 years ago today, Mr Khan (with a lot of help from Ali Mac) gave us a surprise Valentine's Day present ... Felix Magath.

After only 75 days in charge and despite only 10 points from 13 games under him, the sacking of Rene Meulensteen nonetheless came as a bolt out of the blue. At the time we were told that relegation was unthinkable so Mackintosh and Khan felt they had to act. In came the control freak and the unthinkable happened.

I don't think they have done anything since. Both are still unemployed, I believe.

According to his Wikipedia page, Magath has had offers, but he doesn't seem to have taken any of them up.

"Martin Jol is set to return to management with a move to Egyptian club Al Ahly. Jol, who has been out of work since he was sacked as Fulham boss in December 2013 following a run of six successive defeats, is meeting Al Ahly president Mahmoud Taher in London to finalise negotiations and agree terms."

I know that the end of Jol's time was ghastly, but I still think that for a lot of his time he had us playing some really nice football. That home defeat to Sunderland when Hangeland got a dubious red card was something of a turning point, and for some reason his side never recovered from that. Even though he presided over the beginning of our decline, I prefer to remember him for the better days.

I liked Jol but I do think we stalled under him and a malaise kicked in, ended up like a classy leisure club on the river banks with Dimi padding around in his dressing gown and Taraabt firing into the free buffet - it was so comfy most of them went soft and we ended up bringing in a mad drill sargeant to wake everyone up before it went to ****.

It all made Hughes look quite prescient.
