BTW, how long were we out for this evening? I clicked over the forum a few times, only for the link to time-out.
Hope Fran didn't take another trip to TSW?

It's what mods used to refer to it when emailing each other and talking about the site. Besides, Chilco's right. It's The Saints Web

Or rather, he just has a new record out, and realises that people holding an opinion of him - bad or good - is infinitely more financially lucrative than people holding no opinion of him. Annoying that the newspapers give him so much oxygen for it - though he hardly needs them with all his Twitter followers.

Though they were in completely different categories. DiCaprio is onscreen for about every second, whereas Tom Hardy isn't. Either one of them winning an award would of course not be mutually exclusive outcomes (not that you were suggesting they were).

Anyway, everyone knows how it works - it's not Tom Hardy's 'time'. He is still in the queue.

The government of Poland plans to introduce a law making it a crime to imply the country bears any responsibility for atrocities carried out on Polish soil by Nazi Germany.

People could face up to five years in prison if found guilty.

The bill would make it illegal to say that Poland "took part, organised or was co-responsible for the crimes of the Third Reich"

Very sad. I hadn't heard of them, though was aware of it due to the scheduled crowd silence during the City-Spurs game. I do wonder, though, why the nation should then strive to get their single to number one solely because their car drove off a bridge. Maybe it deserves it for being a good song - I can't say. There is an annoying degree of condescension in all these campaigns, though. Suppose it might illustrate how easy it is to manipulate the charts. Social media special projects along these lines continue to baffle me.

Do we have any finger experts here?

I ask because my finger is giving me sharp pain on the left side of the finger tip (by the nail) of one of my index fingers.

It feels a bit numb, yet I can feel it throbbing hard at times. Can't totally bend it, but sometimes, I can. Seems to be a bit of swelling.

I wondered if it might be something to do with the fingernail and the skin but nothing that looks too out of the norm going on.

I can't see a doctor until Wednesday, but equally, I don't want to waste their time.

    Any ideas are welcome!

Ingrowing fingernail. You'll live. If you pull the skin away from the nail at the side it'll hurt like hell but you might release a bit of pus which will help.

Should we be dispensing medical advice on here? DTLW, go to a pharmacy tomorrow. Good ones offer excellent advice. They may well say to see your GP - please do. Don't ring the NHS line. They'll talk at you until you lose the will to live then tell you to go to A&E - please don't. Hope you get better soon, mate.

I twisted my knee on Sunday and am finding it very difficult to get around at the moment. Should I put a poultice on the knee or maybe cut it where the swelling is to relieve the pressure. What do you think Dr Kildare?

FFS who is this guy? Is he some one important or someone about whom I should be concerned or even care about or is he one of the regular arseholes the world seems to be populated with today?

Probably not, no! Just what I would suspect. Only reason I say that is that when I used to bite my nails I used to get precisely this as DTLW describes. If he bites his nails, I'd put a fairly decent bet on it, but of course, get it checked out properly if worried!

Disclaimer - if it finishes off DTLW I apologise!

You might be describing a witlow or an in growing nail. If it's a witlow you will need a needle to release the pressure and then some antiseptic powder. Suggest though you see the quack first........

DTLW, it sounds like "Journo Finger." Tell us the truth now, have you been using a little poetic license in any articles? If so, it's just nature's way of giving you a warning!! :)
