I think most posters calling for studge to be sold were saying that out of frustration of his constant injuries, and the fact none of his understudies/back-ups had enough in the locker to cover what he can offer us on the pitch. his presence alone scares teams. Origami continues to impress me, i thought he was a good young prospect since he arrived and couldnt quite understand the stick he got earlier in the season from a few here tbh, it's good to see others now giving him a chance (kids still a kid after all) He looked very sharp considering he was out for a few weeks & we should get used to that, players not returning until fully fit, a nice change from playing a half fit studge or ford and playing them for 2/3 games risking further injury and having to wait for match fitness. Also good to see Cline grab a goal, he needs to improve a lot going forward & perhaps this will give him the beans to try and be more creative in the opp half from now on. Migs has to be back up next year or sold, No one in that team has confidence in him imo.
I always thought Origi would come good once he got used to the speed of the Prem and playing in a central position, I believe he played out wide in the French league. If he stays fit and Ings gets back to the standard he was before his injury they will be good back up for Sturridge.
He certainly has the attributes to do well in the pl, and no doubt been better than tekkers so far quite honestly. although im not completely anti-benteke if someone wanted to give us 25m back for him id snap their hand off
Said at the time Sturridge should have between now and end of the season to prove his worth and fitness. If he can stay fit (baring a couple of niggly injuries) then he should certainly be kept for next year and hopefully doesn't get picked for Euro's and can get a proper pre season under his belt. However, get another couple of big injuries in similar areas then i'm afraid it's probably best to cash in those chips.
If he gets another couple of big injuries then a bag of chips is all we'll get for him. No, it's all or nothing. We have to get him fit and keep him fit- if he's injured he's no use to us in the team or as a saleable commodity.
It's one goal (that was almost in the middle of the goal #poorkeeping) against a very poor Villa side. He needs to repeat it several times over yet.
Yeah. We really needed that win, so it was a good one, but we mustn't lose sight of the fact that it was a routine win against a completely demoralised side. That Villa performance was one of the most abject I've seen in a while. I can't see anyone else rolling over that easily this season.
Exactly. We've all been waiting to see the Studge, Firmino and Coutinho trio together but the reaction is a bit over the top. They were good but Villa were incredibly **** too. Let's give them time and see if they can do it against Augsburg (x2), Man City (x2) palace, Chelsea, Saints and Spurs (out next eight games but the trio won't play all of them)
