We're also not called Hull City FC and in no way are we by far the greatest team the world has ever seen. The chant mentions the Hull flag, given that we are the only professional club in the City, it isn't hard to work out who we are singing about.
Once saw Mike Yarwood live in the 1970s and he had people rolling about just by reading out a list of rugby league team. Hull Kingston A Rovers, Batler...
I'm amazed Mike Yarwood ever managed to get anyone rolling about, he was the worst impersonator ever.
Seems a lot of fans these days are not bothered what we are called. They just want good football and they'll always call us 'City' regardless of what the official name happens to be. So that's alright then.
I saw him live and he was excellent. No props, wigs, make up, just stood there. Amazing how people who were so terrible used to get millions watching on TV instead of all those impersonators who were, each and every one of them in your opinion, better than him. His one weakness was he didn't want to nasty to anyone.
Hull Tigers definitely doesn't fit. There was a bloke a few rows down from me in the South Stand who tried to change it to show his support for the Allams. I shouted "shut up you ****". I was warned by a steward. Apparently it's a family stand, who knew.
Yeah, I'm in the South Stand and I often get bollocked for shouting stuff out. I usually get "Don't you ****ing know that this is the ****ing family stand, watch your language ****" usually from a lady about 3 rows down.
