    Excellent article. He really is a fan’s dream. While I may not share the belief, I want someone who’d hike 12 miles in the faint hope it would get his team a win.

    I wonder what the name was in Spanish. Sheriff consists of two Old English words: "shire" and "reeve" so it could not be a cognate.

    Superb read. The part that gave me goosebumps was Gary Neville's observation that Spurs players on duty for England came to training more ready than in years past, with a confident sense of purpose.

    Now I understand why he rated us so much as a Sky pundit early on. He knew a change was coming.

    I remember when we were playing arsenal off the park at the Emirates this season, Neville in commentary saying, "I don't believe what I'm seeing here."

    But he clearly did realise that what he was seeing, was a transformation occuring love right in front of his eyes.
