I bear no ill will to Poch himself, nor do I care what he goes on to do in his career. I don't support managers, nor do I expect his ideas (unfortunately) to survive in the ingrained institutional mire of whatever the next club he goes to, which will be a world top ten club. It will be swallowed up in politics etc., though he has done amazingly well to implement it at Spurs - and that only because the timing of the opportunity was spot on, as it really was Nosferatu's last throw of the dice after wasting all that Bale money, and he had nothing to lose, as most Spurs fans seemed to want him gone for being such a slippery, unaccountable toe rag.

All I care about is that Spurs don't win the league. Or yes, I will cry. Particularly since I live there!

Quite. I have no love for Poch and his team whatsoever. He is a good manager, as he showed with us, but that doesn't mean I have to like the sly, conniving, lying bastard.

Think most Saints fans hate Spurs....even if it is bad business, I hope we continue to refuse to deal with them ever again. However, I know that won't happen. Mauricio is lower than a limboing snake.

Now that Forster is back, I think we have the second best defence in the league after Spurs (I'll give Leicester joint second as well). This whole season has been embarrassing.

It's funny but I've never felt a true grudge against anyone in my life. If I can forgive my father for being a right **** to his wife and children as we were growing up, I feel I can forgive anybody. So it took frequenting Saints football forums over the years to acquire an ability to hold a grudge. So now I cheerfully think Pinocchio is a ****, especially whenever I see his grinning face on the TV. Twatcheeks also retains my disapproval, after a season and a half. And one or two more. It's quite liberating actually because it's enjoyable and it doesn't hurt them. :)

Just watched Man City/ Spurs. Our 'best referee' gives a penalty for hand ball when a) it is not and b) He can't see from the angle he is at. Is it reasonable to assume he made the decision based on the Spurs player's appeals.. Just as he sent off Big Vic based on West Ham's appeals. Am I alone in thinking this is an attention seeking man with a need to be the centre of the spectacle rather an official who would prefer to do things quietly and efficiently. A sad reflection on the state of our game when our supposedly 'best referee' is so very poor.

I'm not at all sure about the attention seeking judgement, but certainly I could listen to an argument which suggests that referees are influenced by appeals from players.

I realised, today, how naive I am, regarding football. I checked the City/Spurs score, after 20 minutes or so, saw it was 0-0 and thought "At least Spurs won't get one of their customary soft penalty awards, at The Etihad."
    How wrong was I?

We're third, I think - one goal behind Arsenal and about six behind Spurs.

Oh I'm with you Twatbeard, he makes me feel sick. I guess that's slightly about-face when I like Poch, but hey, who said football fans need to be logical!

Any whispers on who Bayern might appoint? Pochettino would be a good choice

Well, Poch still has contract left so there's no need to worry. He hasn't decided to join another club. He won't whisper sweet nothings about a future elsewhere into the ears of his Tottenham faithful. Oh, what's the contract buyout price again?

The threshold of what constitutes success was slightly more lenient, and Levy's just cheap enough to let it play out a little while before overreacting, heh. Spurs did struggle out of the gate last year; they were sitting 10th with about a third of the season played (though only a couple points off 4th). They were 7th on Christmas. That earned more than a few articles about Poch being under pressure, but ultimately he was given time to correct course. Not sure the same would have been true with those results at Chelsea.

You misheard. It's my Aunty Lotty.

Do we think German clubs notice the performance of our managers in the PL? Not a wind up, a genuine question.

Just caught up with Clottenburg's penalty decision yesterday. The man isn't fit to referee village green football, he's a complete joke.

Based on one decision? I still maintain that he is a top referee. Which he is. There's a reason why he's going to the Euros in the summer and there's a reason why he refereed Bayern Munich v Barcelona in the Champions League semi final last season. He didn't have his finest game yesterday but even Lionel Messi has off days.

Based on his being influenced by the Tottenham players to give a handball which he couldn't possibly see, and which if he had seen he couldn't have given. How is that even possible for our supposed best referee? Plus, of course the inconsistency he showed in our game last week, where he showed once again his tendency to be swayed by players shouting at him.

He has been a top referee in the past I agree, but he has gone downhill fast this season. I really hope he gets his act together in the Euro's where the pressure upon him will be even higher than it is in the Premier League. We will see.

Finally saw the angel where it is clear that there was no contact for the Vardy pen. I thought there was. Clever Vardy there.
