Can't argue with that. I do miss the high press.

Saints selectively high press, depending upon the system they use.

That's allowed. I've never once smiled when admitting something.

edit: apart from when my wife walked into the lounge earlier, screwed her nose up and said, "Who was that?"

If you're anything like me you then laughed like a drain and told her it'd put hairs on her chest.

Straight red, surely. Oh you're not Whatsisface (you know who I mean, him with the red cards for Victor)

Back to the weekend's fun and games. I've only seen one match this weekend, so difficult to comment, but is anyone else getting excited about the two Manc teams preparing to freefall and leave a space for a good up and coming team to sneak into the top 4? They'll need to score goals and concede nowt.

Slight over-reaction from the pundits on who might be best placed to win the PL title. Leicester City are still in pole position and have the easiest run-in. Also, before people laud Arsenal and Spurs to the skies, think of how they won today.

Arsenal beat a team of 10 players in the last second of ET. That won't always occur and Arsenal are less resilient, in my opinion, compared to Leicester and Spurs.

A better bet is indeed Spurs, in my opinion. Consistent, settled, with a set of players who, this season, have finally bought into Pinocchio's philosophy of energetic high press and high tempo possession. Having said that, they only beat Man City due to a dodgy penalty, which they won't get every match.

Despite their cushion being reduced I still think Leicester will do it. If they believe and don't let the pressure get to them.

Unless Spurs are about to lose their best players, I think that would be a huge error on his part. He can scarcely hope to find a better match for his style than that squad, and even with Levy's tendency to overreact, a top 2 or 3 finish should earn him something he's unlikely to find elsewhere: a bit of patience. I might be more annoyed with him if he leaves Spurs than when he left us, actually; swapping Saints for Spurs was a logical step, no matter what one thinks of the manner he went about it, and it has paid off. Swapping Spurs for the likes of Man U would certainly boost his pay, but it's an unnecessary gamble given their position with much less clear long-term upside.

The thought occurred to me earlier that ManC are not making best advantage of the relative doldrums that ManU are experiencing. All good from our point of view. :)

Hard to deny that Spurs deserved it but that penalty.... ....argh!!!

If Clattenberg is the best ref in the Premier League we are in trouble. Why do some referees want to be the centre of attention? The best refs are invisible!

All things considered it's been a good weekend for us. We gained ground on the leaders, and Man Utd, and we overtook WHU. I thought we might lose ground this weekend so it's a real bonus.

Unless it's Barca, I think he's nuts. And yes, I'm including Real Madrid in that. With Perez's control over team setup, I doubt Poch would have much luck instilling his style, and I doubt the Atleti are going to be in the market for a manager in short order.

Pleased that Spurs are showing some consistency and substance at long last. Good luck to them in the EL and PL. Might be good for them if Palace knock them out of the FA Cup as it will lessen the burden on their squad.

Agree in the main Schad - only thing I'd point out is that he's built that squad to match his style. That wasn't luck. It was a very different squad of players when he arrived.

Absolutely. I suspect that he'd have less chance to do so elsewhere, however; he likely would get buy-in at Barca, because there's a historical philosophical match there, but at RM he'd be expected to shoehorn in the same six attacking players no matter what his personal preferences, Chelsea would fire him if the transition took more than two weeks, and Man U is probably in the instant results business now, as well.
